Last week the students in Bio 12 presented their Genius Hour projects and my teacher 💜 grew 5 sizes. I am so pleased with their passion projects and how they opted to share their learning with the class and our guests. @CPA_Principal

Fellow academics: if you've ever failed someone in a PhD defence, how did you break the news to them so as not to be cruel?

@angns It's even worse when they send a message saying a delivery was attempted (and you know there was no attempt to deliver because you were home all day) and notify you to pick up your parcel at the post office--happens all the time to me with Amazon especially.

Does anyone else notice that delivery drivers do NOT knock anymore? I had Amazon, Purolator and FedEx all deliver here recently, while I was home, and not once did any of them knock or ring the door bell. Is this a new thing?

You can have a job and be unhoused. You can be jobless and still deserve housing. Please understand that having a job does not necessarily mean a ticket out of poverty. More importantly, having a job does not validate your sense of humanity.

@EridanusIn @MrAhmednurAli Doesn't this kind of thinking perpetate the cycle? Perhaps a better solution would be proper subsidy for those trying to break the cycle.

@MrAhmednurAli Having a job is obviously one step towards not being homeless. Unfortunately, some jobs will never pay enough to avoid homelessness. So, to avoid homelessness, one should avoid those jobs and those employers. Also, in truth, some people are not easily employed.
