@killdozed The idea though is a key aspect of teaching a child culture is pushing them past that phase of initial identity building and preference establishing and showing them the value in being able to expand their taste and share in a diverse culture with others if they can.

@killdozed So if I really think about it, I’d hazard the reason most kids have this phase autistic or not, is probably that naturally our propensity is to find a source of food we can easily stomach and depend on and return to it.

@killdozed OP is just wrong too like a lot of the POC I know are very careful about what they put into their bodies, western society has legit light poisoned BIPOC communities many times historically through food and other things like that

@killdozed Like maybe we discourage parents from like catering to their four year olds to avoid a tantrum until they mess up their curiosity and limit their palate as adults? But there’s nuance there too bc what if your kid ends up being like pretty autistic fr and you just tortured them?

@baddogbren Like Fate of Ophelia is a bit like TTPD and has a few stumbly lines so I was going in expecting to be disappointed by the lyrics too she reigns it in to get good melodic stacks for the Swedes and then they get a like Teenage Dream session pop band on like every song it’s fr good

@baddogbren Fr this might be objectively high tier TS by after a few listens; I think what happened is she dropped TTPD and ppl were like “yeah it’s okay but nothin special” and then she rereleased it over and over in kinda shitty ways until ppl hated it but they already weighed in
