i know that 'media literacy' is becoming one of those overused terms online like 'slop' but i genuinely genuinely wish more people would be willing to read books that challenge them and engage with shows in good faith when they are more complex and nuanced than they're used to

@loverboyroz I simply can’t read modern YA anymore (with the exception of Legendborn) bc so many are like this. And people say it’s nostalgia looking back at the YA we liked as kids but I’ve gone back and read my favorites as an adult and idk they didn’t assume the kids reading were dumb
