Magandang gabi. This is a lie that I will not tolerate. Sen. Lacson has already stated na ang now majority members ang mga ayaw pumirma sa report ng Blue Ribbon Committee dahil lalabas ang baho ng ilang senador. This notwithstanding the fact na diluted na yung report to appease the senators in question. Lacson met them halfway, ayaw nila pumirma. Madaling malaman ito sa simpleng research. Huwag ho tayong magbulag bulagan.

For the country. Sure, a walkout is a dramatic move. But when the majority shuts down actual discussion and rushes a vote, what choice is left? Walking out is the only way to flag that the process is broken.
Kiko Pangilinan@kikopangilinan

JOINT STATEMENT ON THE SENATE MINORITY WALKOUT We strongly condemn what appears to be an attempt to rush a major change in the Senate Rules, especially when several members of the minority still wanted to speak and raise serious questions on the floor. Bakit kailangang madaliin? We walked out because what happened on the floor looked less like orderly deliberation. The proposed rule change affects how senators may attend sessions, participate in proceedings and exercise their mandate through remote means, and such a measure should be opened to healthy public debate instead of being rushed by the tyranny of the majority. We have always welcomed healthy discussions on the floor, but this should mean allowing all members to be heard, not forcing the chamber to move at the speed preferred by the majority. At the time the motion was taken up, there was no duly constituted Committee on Rules and there was not even an elected Majority Leader who could properly guide a rules amendment through the regular process. How could there have been any action or discussion before the Committee on Rules when no Committee on Rules has been organized to date? With due respect, the answer that no Senate rule had been violated does not settle the matter, because the rules cannot be treated as a matter of convenience when the very process for amending them is under serious question. The timing raises a question that the public deserves to hear debated openly. Kaya pinili naming tumayo at iwan ang majority sa plenary. Kaya kami nagdesisyon to question the quorum and call for adjournment. If the proposal is truly defensible, then let it pass through the proper route. We owe it to the people who voted for us to do our mandate. This is why we want more time to discuss this further.

Friendly reminder that while UNJUSTLY incarcerated, Senator Leila DeLima was NEVER given the opportunity to vote remotely yet she authored HUNDREDS of bills, resolutions and dispatches BY HAND including 4Ps(!), the Magna Carta for the Poor and the Prison Reform Act.

Senator @risahontiveros may not be a lawyer, but she understands her mandate and respects the rules of the Senate. Meanwhile, some with legal backgrounds use their knowledge not to uphold the rules but to twist policies for political convenience. You do not need a law degree to understand integrity, accountability, and respect for institutions. ✊🏻

🚨 Ngayong pwede na makulong ang ilang mga Senador at non-bailable ang mga kaso, gustong i-railroad ng Majority BuLoc ni Alan Peter Cayetano ang motion to amend the Senate rules to allow online voting. Hindi Pinoy Big Brother ang Senado! 😡 #MajorityBuLoc

Sana ang Ombudsman at iba pang government offices will not announce their moves so as not to be telegraphed by those concerned. Just arrest them when opportune. Announcing possible arrests is giving them advance notice so they can make evasive moves. Kaya walang nahuhuli!

Mayor @VicoSotto & Ces Orena - Drillon should file the appropriate cases against Imee ‘Marcos’ for using them in her black propaganda speech at the senate. Teach her the painful lesson 🙁

Nakakahiya at nakakababa ng pagkatao ang paggamit ng Senado para magpakalat ng fake news, disinformation, at propaganda.

Clearly, disinformation has no place in this chamber. The sowing of intrigues has no place in this plenary hall. Fake news has no place in this plenary hall. And I say this by presenting the facts. This representation was Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Amendments from August 12 until May 11. And the records will speak for itself. Sabi nga nila, we should seek the truth from the facts and not from disinformation video propaganda. What are the facts from August 12 until May 11? The Committee on Constitutional Amendments never held hearings on Constitutional Change — that in itself is proof. That is “haka-haka,” this conspiracy to commit or to amend the Constitution for whatever reason: self-serving, term extension, no-el, etc. These are lies. In this plenary hall and in this chamber, the Senate did not entertain Charter Change under my watch as Chairman of the Committee on Constitutional Amendments — for the record. And I support the striking off the record — that it be stricken off the record.

Risa Hontiveros: Hindi ako sensitibo sa puna, sanay ako diyan. Pero ang pinakita po na video ay FAKE NEWS. Delivering a privilege speech is not the same as having the privilege to have fake news enter in the official records as if it were evidence. @risahontiveros 👏🏼
