A few months ago I was interviewing for a job in Dallas. Made it to the final stage, and it seemed like I was going to take the position. Instead, I declined. Part of the contract stated that I could not go to school or work anywhere else while I was with the company. I get the not working anywhere else, as the company is in sports media. However, not letting me go to school? That was a sign they didn’t want me to progress. So, I took a page from a friends book. My friend @lowesaidit has a great saying. He says “bet on yourself.” So, that’s what I did. Now, I’m back in the same city. This time, I’m making the same amount going to school as a graduate assistant, while also living out my dream as finally being a credentialed media member. Moral of the story, don’t settle. If you know you can achieve more, do it. Bet on yourself.
