I say this as someone who was taken advantage by an online friend ten years older when I was 19. I was sure I’d recognise emotional and verbal abuse, I didn’t, I trusted her. I’m still unravelling everything that happened, I’m still angry at myself for letting it happen.

I’ve been on the internet for a while, I’ve seen many in positions of power take advantage of that influence. You might notice, you might not, it might be someone you trusted. Look out for one another, for children and other vulnerable people, and support and listen to victims
