I think one thing that Prospect Researchers & fundraisers often lose sight of is whether a certain piece of information is actually helpful towards our end goal of connecting individuals with the institutions we work for. In almost every case, noting a deadname will not help.

There was a discussion on the Apra listserv about whether or not it's OK to deadname openly trans prospective donors in profiles for fundraisers. It was a good discussion but it was disheartening to see people trying to come up with excuses about why it would be necessary.
