@GergelyOrosz @rakesh_micky And in such setup I'd say that the role changes more into coaching, same as we have Agile coaches. All the mentioned activities sound great, but to do them well you need to have mature teams. And to get there it takes time and effort, hence justifies a supporting/coaching role.

@rakesh_micky Well put. I’d add that in high growth you have observability + customer support functions that also support this. Feels like regulation / fear of fines indeed keeps manual testing & less frequent releases in place.

How is QA/testing changing across larger tech companies and startups? While quality is important, I've observed the dedicated QA/tester role is on the decline at many companies. What are your observations? Share them here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI… or in a reply or DM.

The single greatest misunderstanding of BDD is that it is a system testing technique. It is not, was never. It's right there in the name: behavior DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT.

Every time the tester says "I'm a bug finder" a small kitten dies. No, you're not! You're an information provider!

A quote for today by @2bittester: "If you feel you are learning more about what you are testing, then it’s probably a good test.”. Can't agree more! :)
