English team hive mind: What do you give year 10 and 11 for homework and how do you track it? Any and all answers, please. (Except if you’re one of those people with a cartoon as your profile picture who is going to attack me for setting homework)

@PeterSweden7 Traumatic births, poor care, lack of access to doctors when children are small, both parents needing to work, still women suffer career wise, terrible Mat may, lack of childcare facilities, lack of care when women struggle to conceive. I could go on easily…

BREAKING: Fertility rates in Britain collapses to RECORD LOW. It is now 1.44 children per women, the lowest number since records began in 1938. This is a complete disaster. What do you think is causing this?

Can anyone explain why, when I first started teaching… say 15 years ago kids were better at computers than I was, in terms of use of creating a PowerPoint or word document and using hardware. Now… they can barely turn a computer on? #computing #ICT

@TeacherBusy Been HOD 16 years, it gets easier but I still struggle the night before still. It’s important to draw positives as every year negatives can overwhelm you when you get the results. Have a plan for the day you stick to

I knew the exam results anxiety would be difficult for me, I’m already an anxious person & it’s my first year as HOD so I’ve not dealt with it before but I’m really struggling. My insomnia is bad, I haven’t slept before 2-3am for over a week 😬 how do ppl cope with this feeling?

Two sets of parents won’t sleep tonight. Their babies have been murdered! The media don’t want to use that word but I will. Because it’s true. They were murdered in a holiday club. Dancing to music they loved, giggling and singing, whilst their parents worked. And then they never came home again. Hopes, dreams and lives shattered in the blink of an eye. Families destroyed forever. My heart aches for them and for this country. Because we are no longer a place of safety, we can’t rely on our society to be decent. We are not that place anymore. Successive governments are to blame for that. Their first duty is to keep us safe. They have failed on every measure. And today, to the heartbreak of their families who loved them, a community and a nation … two little baby girls are dead. The sanctimonious‘grief’ of the media will start in earnest tomorrow, to assure us it’s an isolated incident, by a Welsh teenager who has mental health problems. Get lost. No it wasn’t. We see you and we are done 💔

Do 7-nearly-8yo boys go through some crazy testosterone spike? Is that normal? Does it account for their tw*t behaviour?

@clairevh Told I was aggressive anytime I challenged him (I wasn’t, he saw any disagreement as aggressive). Told to not sit there as it’s the ‘pregnancy’ chair. Told not to speak in ML meetings. Good- dynamic female VP who empowered me through coaching- every meeting

What are the best/worst thing you've experienced in line management as a middle leader (current or past)? Please share - for something I'm writing (and also trying to be a good LM obvs!).

@warwickmansell Putting aside the issue raised, schools are not required to put on a prom. It is done purely on goodwill. It’s important to remember this

Just heard from mother of a child, with SEND, who has been banned from the end-of-year prom this year because his behaviour has been deemed to "require improvement". His GCSEs are weeks away. Do these policies really help?

@TTRadioOfficial Started at May/Easter and a Jan once. Picking up split groups, no formal staff induction, not knowing who to approach, children thinking you’re supply (not that it should matter, I know)
