Newcastle will pay Milan €35m+€5m for Malick Thiaw having tracked the player for three years. Announcement imminent. Thiaw met club staff today and has already made a positive impact. Understand ⁠⁠Andy Howe has been in contact with Thiaw's representatives for the past 12 months, including flying out to Italy twice this summer to lead negotiations with Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani. Newcastle have a strong relationship with Milan, especially since the sale of Sandro Tonali. Tonali also spoke with Thiaw ahead of his move. Milan were initially reluctant to sell, but Thiaw was insistent he wanted to join. Manchester United, Bayern and Leverkusen also had an interest in Thiaw at different points over the last 12 months.🇩🇪
