15 years of Twitter. Is this the end? It looks like so. 👋 @lrz" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">mastodon.cloud/@lrz

@N If you start the project you get to dictate all the rules, right? Right? 😅

I used to think that code linters were evil but I changed my mind, they aren’t that bad after all (as long as I get to pick the rules).

Everyone should read the Sequoia Capital article about SBF. There is no better exemplar of the vacuous speculative excesses built around misguided cults of personality and completely detached from economic reality than this piece. It is perfect. web.archive.org/web/2022110902…

I'm a partner at a VC firm in Argentina. Despite all of the market chaos, we're still funding great founders. Just today, we wrote a $60m check to a promising young man for a startup that will use one drop of blood to run hundreds of lab tests and save millions of lives.

@lrz They could run it on OS/2 using DSOM. I’m sure it would be awesome.

Looks like they should rewrite Twitter with CORBA

I hope that someone is recording what’s happening at Twitter HQ. I would love to see that footage.

Twitter will discover dRuby and rewrite in Rails after blaming Scala.

@rich_kilmer Ah yes the Concept2 is quite noisy but I don’t mind it :-) It’s indeed a great workout, took me time to learn the movement tho. I currently mostly use it for recovery between hard runs so I never do more than 10000 meters :-)

@lrz I’ve used the water rowers at Orange Theory for 3 years. That’s why I went with Ergatta. It’s a great feel and quiet. The gamified interface is perfect for me. I’m very numbers driven. Rowing is great exercise.

Got an @ergatta water rower. I love the interface on it! Decided to go for a 23000 meter race. Whew. At 14000 meters got a Charlie horse (see power drop). Had to get off and stretch then got on to finish! I’ll take last place in a finished 23000 meter row any day.

@drbrain Yeah I was already thinking about configuring it so that it behaves like Apple’s internal bug tracker (radar), which I’m used to :)

@lrz I think the danger of JIRA is it is too configurable so people can set it up to be a nightmare factory, then do it

Today I was introduced to Jira as it's time to manage my new project, I was expecting to be terrified but honestly it’s not that bad. (I have to say tho, we use the “newer” cloud version + our wonderful PM set it up accordingly.)

@lrz I'd put it in the same category as wordpress. Out of the box it's actually not that bad, but it gets a terrible reputation because it gives you enough freedom to fill it with complexity and degrade its performance.

@lrz It was a great positive surprise to watch this video from a Kanban advocate at Microsoft. That looks like the mature, no bullshit working environment I like. youtube.com/watch?v=CKWvmi…
