TechniSward grass mixtures are produced to the very highest standards, far exceeding the HVS minimum standards for germination and weed seed contamination. For more information visit bit.ly/3SGfLwu #TechniSward #AgrovistaSeeds

A busy and enjoyable Farm Expo yesterday. As well as discussing soil health, our Rural Consultancy team were highlighting SFI, grants & stewardship and our Precision team, the utilisation of Biomass, NDVI and productivity maps for variable rate seed and nutrient applications.

@makesoilgreat Only move the minimum soil required. You can’t beat a spade to tell you how much soil you do or don’t need to move. There’s nothing natural about a man-made seedbed, although some soils (silts) are not self structuring & require a little help either with roots or bit of metal.

@RevRichardColes Not unplayable- just think about how you’d play the bass clef notes on the top line with your left hand but use right hand instead. You’ll need to move your bum a bit left along your piano stool!

@TheFarmingForum Higher seed rates. Check latest sowing date per variety. Don’t push it if in south. Will be classed as spring wheat from 1st Feb and this will affect crop protection product use, particularly herbicides.

#WordFromTheHedge The government has vowed we must plant 45,000 miles of new hedges by 2040. That is 72,420,000 new hedge whips, canes and plastic spirals. Without the spirals, deer eat the juvenile plants, yet the spirals are single use plastic. Can anyone see the problem here?

@TrooperSnooks @JoeWStanley They don’t have to be plastic - use cotton and pine rosin ones instead. Check out the Whiptec Bio and Tree Hugger range from @AgrovistaUK Biodegradable. Plastic free. Made from recycled material. Available in a range of sizes
