🚨#BREAKING: The ONLY Republican running for Mecklenburg County (Charlotte NC) District 1 has just dropped out of the race... ...AFTER NOT A SINGLE PERSON WAS ARRESTED FOR FIRING SHOTS AT HIS HOME WHILE HIS WIFE AND KIDS WERE INSIDE!!!!! Local police CONFIRMED the attack was targeted specifically at Aaron Marin. Bullet holes can be seen in trees, cars, mailbox, and his kid's basketball hoop. Marin's ENTIRE FAMILY was forced to leave their home and Aaron says they live in, "constant fear." He says his kids no longer even feel safe to play outside. When you murder two people you don’t get ANY second chances. He shouldn’t have been out of jail after only 9 years. This is a terrible case study for men’s custodial rights. 99.99999999% of men in my country lose custody for far far far less than this. THAT is the real issue here.

Even though the father had done the work, served his time, and showed real change, the mother’s distrust and desire for a “cleaner” family unit overrode everything... This episode highlighted a very real struggle: when does someone deserve a second chance as a parent? And how much should past sins (even serious ones) permanently disqualify someone who’s trying to do better?

“I effing killed him” — Gay man charged with murder of baby boy he adopted. The baby’s cause of death was acute upper airways obstruction, as a result of smothering by hand, fabric, or inserted object. The child had suffered 40 injuries including external and internal bruising, and a fractured arm. Detective found videos on Varley’s phone, recorded earlier that day, with the boy lying on the bed with respiratory arrest but the defendant did not seek medical help. Varley is charged with: murder, manslaughter, two counts of assault by penetration, five counts of cruelty to a child, grievous bodily harm, sexual assault of a child, 13 counts of taking indecent photos or videos of a child, one of distributing an indecent photo of a child. A month before the child’s death, Varley told a social worker he wasn’t “bonding” with the child and was having “dark thoughts” about him, including thoughts of drowning or suffocating the baby. He said he would never act on them.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ They let him keep the baby anyway.
