ON THIS DAY 11 years ago, Tiffany Mitchell put together an all-around performance—21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 blocks, all team-highs—to lead South Carolina past Florida State, 80–74, and into the program’s first-ever NCAA Final Four. One round earlier, it was Mitchell’s go-ahead layup with 4.2 seconds remaining that lifted South Carolina to a 67–65 win over North Carolina. Since that breakthrough run, the Gamecocks have returned to the Final Four six more times. 🐔🪄
