One of the lesser-known and rarely discussed facts about Syunik being Armenian today is Andranik's role in it. Had Andranik not eliminated a large portion of the Turkic/Muslim population in the region in 1918 and significantly shifted its demographics, and brought in refugees from Western Armenia, neither Nzhdeh's future resistance would have been possible (with too few people to recruit, no supply lines, constant sabotage from a hostile population, etc.), nor would the Bolsheviks' later decision to keep the region within Armenia have been made. So, Andranik Ozanyan, a general of the Russian Empire and one of the key figures in modern Armenian history, is to be thanked for Armenian Zangezur.

There are over 8,000,000 Kipchak Turks (Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Karakalpaks) that share modern blood kinship with Mongol clans: Even though they are different ethnicities, they share the same clan name, lineage, and ancestors. Below are two couples from the Naiman clan. The left couple is Mongol & the right couple is Kazakh. Despite their ethnic difference, they are from the same clan and blood. @daily_reviewss @dissidentwest Sure, we're all related in some way, but I don't think we can count them as our ancestors since they belong to the Oghur branch of Turkic family (Bulgars, Avars, etc) The Chuvash are probably much closer to them than any Turkman could be
