My sadness re. Sabina matched only by rage at the inevitable 'safety tips'; "well lit areas!" "no headphones" "be on phone for backup!" "don't be on phone, stay vigilant!". The Met one literally says "stay assertive". THESE THINGS ARE IN OUR BONES FROM DAY 1. WE ARE NOT THE ISSUE

5 years ago today I received a full scholarship to train in MT at my top choice college. 5 years later and I’ve had to take up 2 jobs completely unrelated to my industry and have been working 7 day weeks for as long as I can remember to pay for all that I lost in the pandemic.

Teen cosmetic surgery is at an all time high? I wonder why? apparently they bring their filtered pictures in to meet the surgeons as a prescription of how they wish to look. We have to stop using these apps for them, and for our own sanity. They are designed to create self hate.

Eating disorders have the highest mortality rates among psychiatric disorders. Of those who survive, only 50% recover, 30% improve and 20% remain chronically ill. We still do not know how to talk about EDs, and most don't understand them. I really hope that can change.

I see this with my preschoolers too - the minute I get them dancing or singing rather than doing maths/reading/playing, some of the quieter ones jump right out of their shells🥺 There’s nothing like the arts

Teaching at a Easter school this week & we have a child we were warned would not speak, interact with students or participate. Yesterday they did a fashion catwalk, danced a solo & read their poem to the class. THIS IS WHY THE ARTS IS IMPORTANT FOR CHILDREN! WE ARE VIABLE!
