My mom gave me this to make sure I have Python on my computer 😂 (yes, I know this is not a python but I appreciate her effort regardless 😜)

Playing around with Copilot for notebooks in @code and the new feature I just added that lets you attach notebook cell outputs to chat. Nice to learn the real bottleneck these days is my typing speed 😅

Working with untyped #Python code? 🐍 Give Pylance's inlay hints a try! They provide real-time type information directly in your code, making it easier to understand and debug 🛠️ Search for "Python inlay hints" in the VS @code settings page to enable it 🚀

@santiagocasti Hi there! Sorry Pylance didn't provide you with a good experience. Would mind giving a bit more details about it? E.g. was it noisy and wrong about type issues, or about missing imports, or something else? Thanks a lot!

VSCode felt that it needed plugins for almost everything and there was not always a clear best choice for it that had everything necessary. Pylance seemed very noisy and often wrong or not explaining the problem/solution clearly.

Jetbrains IDEs have been my go to choice personally and professionally. In the last few weeks, I tried VS Code as my main IDE 🧵

@drose101 @pythonvscode @code it's not really "go backwards" because it doesn't restore the state. It just allows you to set the next statement to be on a different line, if that makes sense :) it can still be really useful though!

What's your favorite underrated feature in VS @code ? Ours is probably the #Python debugger's "Jump to Cursor": hit a breakpoint, right-click on a previously executed line, and continue execution from there. Great to avoid restarts when debugging long-running code! 🔍🪲

You might already know that you can drag editors into their own floating window in @code. But did you know that this works for the terminal too?

Did you know can enable automatic conversion of strings to f-strings with Pylance? To try it out, enable the "python.analysis.autoFormatStrings" setting, and then once you insert { within a string, Pylance will handle the rest! 🐍✨ Install Pylance: aka.ms/AAthmjk
