I received a very unexpected package today! All 20 headphones from our wishlist!!! No name and no QR code for a thank you so I’m hoping whoever sent these will see this. I am incredibly grateful for these! We use them so much and many get broken/kids don’t bring any! THANK YOU!
@robertkaplinsky@openmiddle Hi Robert I watched your wonderful training on Open Middle. I teach a 4/5 combo this year in Downey but I notice your book is for middle school. Any plans to do an elementary version and/or could I use the concepts for my class?
This single third grade @openmiddle problem will replace an entire worksheet and uncover misconceptions you didn't even know were there. Have your students place five fractions they create on a number line and see what happens. openmiddle.com/placing-fracti…#iteachmath
LA County DPH is issuing a new Health Order (looks like it will take effect Friday) allowing vaccinated people to take off their masks indoors at places that check for proof of vaccination.
This puts us significantly closer to aligning with the State.
EDUCATORS and LIBRARIANS: I’m giving away 90 copies of the first three books in my Geeger the Robot early chapter book series, half here and half on Instagram.
To enter to win them here: RT this tweet + follow me!
Bonus entry: tag a pal who you think might like these books too!
NEW: CA’s case rate has decreased by 65% since our Omicron peak. Our hospitalizations have stabilized across the state.
Our statewide indoor mask requirement will expire on 2/15.
Unvaccinated people will still need to wear masks indoors.
Get vaccinated. Get boosted.
Had a conversation today with my principal... if we feel more comfortable being old school is that a style? Are we are preparing kids for their future?
@mackenziescott Hi 👋 You are such an inspiration! I hope I would be as selfless snd generous as you if I were in your shoes. 🤞 I’m a teacher in California and I wonder if you’d ever considered donations to Donors Choose yet? It’s a great way for us to get things our students need.
Please spread the word about these remarkable teams (and when you do please help shift the culture by making them the subject of your story or comments) bit.ly/3wvUYPR
Please stay home as much as you can. Limit any non-essential travel or activities. Only get together with friends and family virtually, not in person.
We’re at a critical juncture. Thank you for the sacrifices you’re making. #LALove
@lapublichealth I really hope that the “experts” can get a handle on this soon! Those of us that are constantly doing the right thing are sick of all the consequences for others actions!!
LA County #COVID19 cases are surging and there are some simple things you can do:
- Avoid all indoor gatherings
- Reconsider and cancel travel plans
- Wear your face covering when outside your home
- Keep your distance from people you don't live with
@lapublichealth I’d love to see the proof on this! Why isn’t it getting any better? It’s very defeating Dr Ferrer. Do you ever have ANYTHING encouraging to tell us??
COVID-19 cases are rising in LA County. If you were in a gathering without face coverings or distancing, or around someone positive for COVID-19, please self-quarantine. It will protect your friends and family from getting infected.
Yesterday, California tragically lost 197 lives to #COVID19 - a new record high.
We mourn all the lives lost and grieve with the families torn apart because of this virus.
We have to beat this - together.
@GavinNewsom I was wondering why we can’t report the number of recovered cases when publishing data? That is an important part of this. We have to know that what we are doing matters and MOST people recover from Covid! That’s just as important if not more important than the number of deaths
Today’s #COVID19 numbers:
New cases: 9,718
7-day average: 9,881
Average positivity rate for tests: 7.5%
A lot of numbers that tell us one thing: take this seriously. We can’t let up.
It takes all of us -- acting TOGETHER -- to slow the spread.
WEAR A MASK.
@lapublichealth I was wondering why we don’t give the number of RECOVERED CASES when offering data to the public. For instance, out of those 168,757..... 168,500 have recovered!! I feel like you publish part of the data to make the picture look much bleaker than it really is!
DISCLAIMER: Today's low numbers are due to lab reporting delays and incomplete hospitalization data.
COVID-19 Daily Update:
