@luazvedo I guess in their case we don’t know if this was by choice. But it’s pretty expected in the US for Olympians to wear their medals to public appearances for a bit after the games. I just wonder if it feels awkward to sit in a Broadway theater with two medals around your neck.

Making them wear their medals to the opening night of a Broadway show is crazy.

@bogdan_georgeus @virtuemoired I believe Gabi. Hope he’s comfortable enough to challenge himself. Laurence used to do sick lifts before. And is super versatile. How lucky is he to be skating with one of the best Canadian skaters since VM?

@luazvedo @virtuemoired But we don’t really know his behaviour towards GP. Does he seem overly ambitious and controlling? Yes, he does. But at the same time I find him a lot more relaxed and comfortable with Laurence than with Gabriella. He has flaws, I don’t worship him but I don’t wish him ill either.

Tbh i think it's very possible (but not guaranteed) us keeps 3 dance spots next year. Cpom finished 11th at olys -> 2 teams above them have withdrawn so that's 9th and then zingnik would have to get 4th

@bogdan_georgeus @virtuemoired I’m not a fierce enemy. Lol. He is a great skater, just wished he didn’t repeat the same style all the time. If his mistakes and flaws were more acknowledged, and if I didn’t know his behaviour towards his former partner, maybe I could appreciate him like you do.

@luazvedo @virtuemoired I’m glad he has such fierce enemies, that only goes to say how great he is. And keep wishing that to him. I read similar posts before the free program at the Olympics where people like you wished he would fall even twice. That wasn’t very effective eventually, but keep trying.

CPom had basically the same FD BV at the Olympics vs Worlds25, but the GOE and PCS drop was immense (they had a higher FD score at worlds than Z/K's PB). So judges went along the USFS drop...

@n0lancarney @TCVicious29 Z/K and CPom finished 5 and 11 at the Olympics, so 4 and 9 seems possible 2 top teams withdrawing, even with F/G back on the podium. But only if USFS are done being silly (=dropping CPom).

@violetsvirtue I've listen to the skating session podcast and granted I don't agree with some of their takes. But I'm quite baffled by how dismissive they've been of Zoueva's past choreo. I guess to each his own.

@ayphyd I'm sure they'll do great next quad and finally have the fed support. And Z/K world medal seems unlikely to me this season. Next season every team needs to raise their game, though.

Remember when people used to talk about lala getting a world medal when/if the hags retire. Now it’s zk world medal…. Really makes you think….

@sakurapeony13 @tea_zamboni I mentioned D/W because of the style and Igor, but they were a team since the age of 9 and had their first senior worlds at 19. Z/K are heading to their first worlds at 24 and have competition in the US, which D/W didn't from 2008 onwards.

Here’s my hot take on agèd ice dancers coming back: it doesn’t really bother me provided they are not doing so for results. Because they are GOING to lose to zk. So they need to be ok with that.

@wthrnghghtsfd F/G made a huge mistake (8 less points in the FD than at GPF, and were headed at least to a 212 TS). Unless they make a big mistake again, I doubt they’ll miss the podium. If G/P had withdrawn the Z/K podium was very likely. Looking forward to hopefully a clean slate next season.
