Today, I had the opportunity to join one of the sessions of the Advanced School on Tropical Agriculture 2026 happening at @UM6P_officiel, Benguerir. Even from a single afternoon, it was clear this is more than a typical academic event. It brings together researchers, lecturers, and practitioners from across Africa and Brazil around one central idea: agriculture cannot be understood in isolation. The focus on the Water–Energy–Food–Climate nexus challenges a mindset many of us grew up with — where farming is seen mainly as production. Instead, it pushes a more integrated view where every decision made on a farm is connected to resources, systems, and long-term resilience. Beyond the sessions, what stood out just as much were the conversations, connecting with people from different backgrounds, exchanging perspectives, and realizing how shared many of our challenges (and opportunities) are across regions. A few takeaways that stayed with me: • Soil is not just a medium for crops, it is foundational to how water, energy, and food systems function. • Sustainability is less about isolated solutions and more about how well systems are managed together. • Technology and innovation matter, but their real impact depends on how they are integrated into broader agricultural systems. As a student in Agribusiness Innovation, experiences like this quietly reshape how I think about agriculture, not just as a sector, but as a system that requires coordination, trade-offs, and long-term thinking. Still early in the week, but already a reminder: the future of agri-food systems will depend less on single breakthroughs, and more on how well we connect the dots. #LearnGrowFarm #Agriculture #Sustainability #FoodSystems #Innovation #ASTA2026

@SangwaSifa @luceeoma @UM6P_officiel Le terrain révèle les vrais défis ! J'attends vos observations sur Khouribga. La théorie du nexus ne prend sens qu'au contact des réalités agricoles.

There should be a general sensitization and business model workshop across all ministries of agriculture in every state where they identify the opportunities and have department focused on help investors identify who work with based on their need. But then, I love Taraba so much !

But why is no one telling us to visit and INVEST in TARABA STATE AGRICULTURE 🧑‍🌾? Taraba state influencers and Agroprenurs you need to talk about your state the more so we can make the $ together and drive more investors into the state.

@Nig_Farmer Hopefully The actually have trained learning designers in this process . If not the process would remain the same. Sadly we have very few agric-focused learning designers globally.

Good New for Nigerian Agricultural Students 🎉💃🕺 Nigeria’s Fed Govt has started a nationwide agricultural curriculum review across tertiary institutions. It's a shake-up of how agriculture is taught in polytechnics and colleges of education to close the skills gap Many agricultural programmes had gone unchanged for more than 15 years, a reality that has made them unattractive to young Nigerians and out of step with what the industry actually needs. The Nigeria agricultural curricula review will cover all 33 National Diploma and Higher National Diploma agricultural programmes excluding the universities. Nigeria needs to shift agricultural education from theory to hands-on practice. A decline in trained extension officers and technical farm experts are evidence that the current approach was failing. The ND and HND are designed for practical agricultural support but today they are just theory with no practical experience. That needs to change. If you're seeking admission choose agriculture, if you're already a student and looking to move to another course choose agriculture. It's a beautiful course of study 😎

If your crop is not yielding, it’s not always a pest problem. It might be stress. •Heat stress quietly reduces flowering •Water stress blocks nutrient uptake •Soil stress weakens root systems No visible “disease”… but yield still drops. Most farmers treat symptoms. Very few diagnose stress. From attending ASTA at @UM6P_officiel i would be building the following on @AGRODEMyafrica 📘 Crop Stress Management in Agribusiness (Africa) Ebook 🎓 Practical Crop Stress Diagnosis & Management Course 🎤 How to Identify & Fix Crop Stress Before Yield Loss webinar #ASTA2026 #Agriculture #AgriTech #ClimateSmartAgriculture #Agrodemy

Most agricultural research in Africa is useless. Not because it’s wrong, but because nobody translates it for farmers. Day 1 at ASTA: Remote Sensing (you can monitor farms without being there) My job? Turn it into courses, content & webinars. #ASTA2026 #Agrodemy #Agriculture

Can your influencers friend grow on X? I have been selected to represent Nigerians in agriculture for the next 5 day at #um6p for #asta2026 . My work is simple; learn the technologies and convert them to courses and webinars for you to learn. Let’s get this started #farming

This is a value added agribusiness that one can start with goat that is not goat farming! More production is not the right way to go about reducing food scarcity and high cost, Reducing waste through value addition, processing and packaging is the way.

The problem of food scarcity/price hack is solved by increasing production in a country where over 40% of what is produced is lost to food waste. The solution is to focus on getting to Zero food waste! No matter what we produce we would face scarcity till this is addressed
