I have looked into the process for reporting to the police and it’s not great - there’s a lack of forensic testing and other challenges but we should and can make it harder for predators through awareness campaigns.

Drug & rape culture? I have stories for days . Some 3-4 years back, at Korna, I ordered a cocktail, a random man was sitting next to me and my friends, he drugged my drink. I passed out and he tried to convince my friends to let him take me home. We didn’t know him from Adam

I hope they are tracing the source of the drugs So African was using to drug these women. Because the news just came out, and I’m already hearing about other girls who have experienced similar things with other men from that same club.

@xm_muva @Bobthebuil19383 Oh for sure. But everyone knows how it is with reporting to the police here and how they can be paid off. I even told my friend there was no point as I know it won’t go to court unless the witness remains in the country and who would want to do that?

Oh. Basically the only reason this is public information is because their victims aren't Ghanaian women. This should make Ghanaian women LIVID; your government and justice system only holds powerful people accountable when they harm tourists - not when they harm you. There are functional systems that exist - but not for you.

@ChiefWitxh The thing is, these guys target foreigners knowing nothing will happen unless the women are willing to pay and stay in Ghana until it goes to court . No one who is traumatised will do this. It seems it was the Telegram channel that helped bring justice.

Mind you, if the girls hadn’t been foreigners, we may never have heard about this. I hope some of the women he has done it to that are Ghana based will be able to get justice as well.
