I've been awake for 46 minutes. In that time I have had to help my disabled kid with 5 things that able 11yos would just do automatically. This happens all day long, every day.

@Jandal_It @Rachel_Smalley True that it’s a huge time but INZ was a shambles before covid and it’s only got worse. Everyone knows someone who’s had a shite time from them. Only way to get anywhere is by hiring a private lawyer/ consultant or hit the media…

@lucywalternz @Rachel_Smalley It's a huge time for any organisation, given covid rates, absences, & high demand. This is par for the course for applications of this nature - as I found in Italy and Belgium, & not during a pandemic. You don't give up and then blame the gov't if you really want to stay.

Thinking about my mum fresh off the boat in NZ in the 80s. She was told to 'bring a plate' to a party and bought an empty plate bc she thought they didn't have enough plates for all the guests.
