This argument never ends. I do not feel much reason to be contentious with Calvinists here. All things come to pass according to the will of the Lord, and none can resist His hand. We know that the Lord has elected a certain segment of humanity to eternal glory, and has damned the rest via His consequent will for not believing in Christ and working wickedness. This eternal planning unfolding through the ages was clearly pleasing to the Lord, and is effectively non-different than what a Calvinist will say. I've heard R.C. Sproul say this stuff. I don't know who's elect or who's not, but I know God has chosen His saints before the foundation of the world.

Yes, predestination to Heaven is both biblical and Church teaching. However, we reject the Calvinist notion of “double predestination” in which God predestines some people to Hell: “God predestines no one to go to hell; for this, a willful turning away from God (a mortal sin) is necessary, and persistence in it until the end. In the Eucharistic liturgy and in the daily prayers of her faithful, the Church implores the mercy of God, who does not want ‘any to perish, but all to come to repentance’ (2 Peter 3:9).” (CCC 1037)

and “minimalist” here is referring to liturgical and aesthetic minimalism, not doctrinal minimalism, although there’s a place for a certain degree of that. our public liturgy and our church buildings should be at least amenable to the Reformed, except in peripheral touches

People like this are why I, as a Catholic, feel closer to Anglicanism and more strongly desire unity with Anglicanism, than I feel towards Eastern Orthodoxy, especially of the convert variety.
Anglicans are human beings, and believers in Christ, who (unlike eo) recognize Rome as a legitimate church and maintain Catholic theology more than any Protestant group.
The Ordinariate is growing in Britain, many Anglican bishops have converted. A third of Catholic ordinations in Britain since 1990 have been prior Anglican priests.

Never understood the appeal of male strippers. Seeing a man gyrate and shake his body like a woman viscerally repulses me. But we shan’t be surprised these days. Women are divorcing their husbands over a softcore pornographic Netflix show about 2 gay hockey players. The internet has made me resent the average woman sadly.

@SummerSnowUSA @0xAlaric Even regular theaters are sold out all over. It won’t bomb at all. The marketing got people out of the house. My prediction is a large drop in box office next weekend though. It won’t have much word of mouth recommendation to keep it going (except for IMAX still going)

I saw the movie in the cheapest standard theater and the aspect ratio was nearly square. Very similar to IMAX.
The horseshoe theory wins again.
