💭🤨 “95% of NFTs are worthless” 🧵👇🏻 Been thinking about this statement the last few days. At first we hear stuff like this and go… “damn that’s brutal.” Now I’m kinda thinking “damn that’s accurate AF” Apparently someone ran a study on like 70-75,000 projects and determined only 5% or less are successful. I actually think this is normal. Think about it… Most NFTs ARE worthless. No liquidity, no buyers, no builders, no community, no utility…. this is subjective but probably only 200 (or less) projects on ETH have any relevancy at all. And tbh it’s prob really only 100-150 or so that people still believe in, rock as a PFP or transact within on a daily basis. So 99% of 70,000 projects is probably even more accurate than 95% 99% of people NEVER make it the MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, Olympics etc Most businesses fail within 1-5 years Most licensed real estate agents never make a single sale Most people won’t read this tweet in full cause it has a jpg monkey I personally never cared about what most people do or think, or most statistics show. I like to be the underdog, back against the wall, odds against me. For me that’s half of what life is about. Adversity. That’s where greatness is bred. Most of the NFT enthusiasts, maxis, die hards understand we are early, they understand we are trying to figure it out, they understand they probably over paid for most of their bags. That’s what being early looks like. Wins and losses, perspectives to realities, trials and errors to solutions and breakthroughs. I’m here for it.
