@JoshuaDotFang Bang on. Most of my enjoyment playing sports came from being in a relatively merit first environment and being around other competitive folks. Learned way more on the field and in the gym than I’d ever learn in a classroom.

I think there are two pieces that compound the effects of the “Olympiad mafia” 1. Real competition. We’ve taken it out of sport but with math Olympiad, it’s still there 2. You take already smart kids and put them in an environment that enables them to succeed
