@winfriedmaus @JamieMoranUK I actually agree with this statement, I think this is exactly how it will work. I don't think he is saying he wants this to be the case just that this seems like the most logical outcome. Personally I would prefer Xbox to stay in the console game as it drives competition.

You can repeat that as often as you like, but a machine that can run games from Steam, GOG and Epic is a first and foremost a Windows PC and it comes with all the Windows baggage. Sure, it will boot in the "Xbox Full Screen Experience" which will hide the Windows stuff - until you need one of those clients like Steam. Then Windows will become very visible. The fact that it can still run legacy Xbox games is nice, but basically an afterthought in this design - and rest assured, that feature will make it into the regular Windows distribution rather sooner than later. This new Xbox is designed to transition legacy Xbox customers and their libraries to the PC world, making that transition easier with some hardware that is guaranteed to be compatible. But it is a PC. And it is made to sunset Xbox.

The Core user base of Xbox are Console Players Not Cloud, Not Windows Store and Not Mobile. They’re making a Console for their Core Demographic. Certain people are pushing the “it’s a PC” because of Optics, they don’t want Xbox in the Console game. It will be a Console.

Demon's Souls really didn't get enough credit. One of the best remakes ever made, it literally was the perfect remake Thank you Bluepoint Games

I might be the only person on Earth not hyped about Crimson Desert. Before anyone foams at the mouth, I don’t think it’ll be bad. I just think it’s trying to do… a lot. Every new clip I see adds more mechanics. From a “less is more” perspective, it’s starting to feel overwhelming.

Maybe it’s just me, but if I bought a studio known for delivering incredible remakes of beloved games, I probably wouldn’t assign them to make a live service game… What a waste.
