@bebraw Yeh, there probably is one.. I tried for a good few hours yesterday to resolve the issue but to no avail..
Think I’m just going to rewrite to be a straight up firebase app and deploy to the hosting and functions there.

Spent the last week building an Astro project backed by Firebase.. everything works great locally but today I find it won’t deploy to cloudflare pages 😭

@bebraw I haven’t been able to figure out exactly why it won’t build with the cloudflare adapter.. but the error suggests that firebase/admin package depends on “fs” which is not available in workers.

Who is interested in making the web capable of building these interactive experiences on mobile? Who is already trying and how close have they gotten? I want to look at what others have done. There are many possible approaches. Tag them.

You still can’t create a UI as high fidelity as one of the most basic apps on iOS - Stocks app. Never seen even a basic app like this be as smooth in a web browser. Note the list reordering. Everything animates as you drag them (tap “Edit Watchlist”).

@lukejacksonn @jordwalke Very cool. Would be nice to fix a few of the layout shifts caused by mis-sized images, prefetch them, etc.

@jordwalke @Baconbrix Yeh I started with scroll snap (really wanted it to work) but it got buggy when it came to making the end app grid screens sticky, it also allows you to scroll over a screen.
Was aware of the low power mode and rAF.. just never got round to implementing!

@lukejacksonn @Baconbrix Unfortunately low power mode (toggle it in settings) makes everything choppy which is a problem with iOS safari.
You need to change the code to not assume each frame is x ms. Instead the system gives you animation frames at will and you need to calculate the time that has elapsed

A while ago, I did an experiment on generating an organic shape using code.
I also wrote a tutorial on how to build it yourself.
Later, I created a @retool Custom Component that replicated the same functionality within Retool.
Now, I’ve done it again, but this time with BoltNew by @stackblitz.
Organic Shaper is a micro-tool—simple and free—for generating organic SVG shapes.
The interesting part is that the Bolt version improved the functionality on its own, without any explicit input.
In my previous versions, changing the color would regenerate the shape.
In this new version, it doesn’t, which makes total sense.

The @googlemaps app is probably the last I'd uninstall from my phone.. but my goodness, the JavaScript SDK is an absolute abomination.
