Submitting a website for an international award like Awwwards isn’t just a formality - it’s a deep-dive into process, iteration, and learning to showcase your project to the global design community. On Day 15 of our 100-day challenge, Dung is hard at work on the design of our project, so I spend my time finalizing Lumen Artpsace, a very important milestone for Lumen Studio.

Working on the new About page for Lumen Artspace has been eye-opening. While putting this together, I learned so much about Vietnamese lacquer art. For the About page, my goal is to introduce visitors to what makes lacquer painting so special - its history, meaning, and evolution over time. Really excited to launch this page soon!

@webflow changed my life! But when I started learning it, I noticed that almost no one in Vietnam was using it or even talking about it. That’s why, two years ago, I created a Vietnamese YouTube channel all about Webflow. I wanted to share everything I know about building great websites, organizing projects, and even adding fun animations with @greensock . My goal was to help more Vietnamese people learn Webflow and feel confident using it in real client projects. Sneak peek at the new loading animation for Lumen Artspace. With so many images on the site, loading can take a moment, so we wanted to make it feel special. While everything gets ready, you’ll see a smooth animation. Then, a curtain opens up to reveal the full gallery. I also wrote a little function that listens for the loading events on all assets across the site, so the loading bar you see isn’t just a typical fake number-it actually shows real progress.

Currently working on a new GSAP Effect tutorial for my YouTube channel! It’s a fun animation where images smoothly follow your cursor, creating a lively trail, perfect for adding some interactive flair to your site. Here’s a sneak peek inside the design file for the whole Lumen Artspace website - lots of versions, tweaks, and ideas we went through to get it just right. Big shoutout to our team for sticking with it and pushing through every change. Sometimes the messy process behind the scenes is where the real magic happens.

One of the toughest challenges our team faced while building the Lumen Artspace website was how to showcase all the artworks without overwhelming the viewer. The layout, typography, and colors had to support the art, not compete with it. After exploring many options, we landed on a clean, animated grid layout that lets each piece shine. The subtle motion draws you in without distraction, creating a seamless flow that feels natural and inviting.

Reflection of Art. Lumen Artspace is showcasing the lacquer work of Vo Xuan Huy. Each piece is more than just stunning - it’s a window into Vietnam’s history. You’ll spot symbols from Hue, hints of the Imperial city, and even traces of the Vietnam War. In this section, the paintings drift from right to left, flowing like a river through time. And as you move your mouse, a WebGL ripple effect follows. Every movement, no matter how small, sends waves through the past and present.

Sneak peak of the new 404 page for Lumen Artspace. Most 404 pages just tell you you’re lost. This one lets you wander - a never-ending grid of beautiful Vietnamese lacquer paintings you can scroll and drag through. Sometimes, the best discoveries happen by accident. And yes, I had a blast with the copy on this one.
