Here are 2 feminist scholars clearly stating that race of perpetrator does NOT predict femicide, black men are not figured as especially deviant for the argument of black femicide, and that black people—due to state deprivation & negligence—disproportionately deal with the structural elements that produce social breakdown and violence: “We should also note that race of the perpetrator is generally not a factor in predicting femicide once multiple risk factors are accounted for (Campbell et al., 2003; West, 2004). This is crucial to highlight for two reasons: the narrative of the dangerous black male is one that has contributed to the persistent and violent subjugation of black men in American society (see Muhammad, 2010) and it is essential that the analysis of black women’s victimization presented here not be seen as contributing to that construction in any way; in addition, understanding this fact draws further attention to the features of the US state that have created very different living conditions for blacks than for whites. While the carceral state literature has taken some account of this for men, it has had very little to say about what it means for women.” - Black women, victimization, and the limitations of the liberal state — Shatema Threadcraft, Lisa Miller

actually quite cringe how the nonblack left ignores how white racial consciousness is a barrier to any class politics. They just shout identity politics three times and put their hands over their ears. It’s actually pathetic.

The woman whose home Chi is defending is Carmela Charrington, who has been in Rikers for 6 days now for for fighting the theft of her family's home. "Our community is pretty much gone," she told me last month. Said people need to be asking: "How did it happen? Who did it?"

“Femicide is a different phenomenon. The term may strike some as feminist linguistic overreach, but femicide is as apt as homicide. First, as the above makes clear, only 23 percent of those murdered are women and girls, and they are not killed in the same contexts that men are, nor are they killed by the same people. They represent 63.1 percent of those killed by intimates and 81.7 percent of those killed in sex-related murders. They are, therefore, killed in the course of things that have come to define the private sphere in many cultures, not least of all our own. They are also likely to be killed during an argument and not during the commission of a felony. Women are killed in private, without witness or only witnessed by politically voiceless minors; they are killed in the home, that space long considered a man’s castle. Their deaths are unlikely to register as threats to the public order. Their deaths are unlikely to register at all.” - Shatema Threadcraft, North American Necropolitics & Gender: On BlackLivesMatter & Black Femicide

BREAKING: Louisiana has advanced one of the cruelest anti-homeless bills in the country. It would force homeless people to choose between jail and involuntary treatment, make them pay for it, and if they can't pay, force them to perform unpaid labor. housingnothandcuffs.org/2026/04/16/sta…

The US didn’t agree to a ceasefire but acquiesced to a new balance of power. By insisting on ending the war rather than settling for a temporary ceasefire, Iran moved beyond merely restoring deterrence, whether as denial or as punishment. It exercised deterrence as compellence, forcing the US to change its behaviour and to negotiate under Iranian terms of reference, with the US in an unfamiliar role as the subject of demands rather than their issuer. Iran went far beyond what ceasefires and classical deterrence typically achieve, which is simply a return to the status quo ante. Instead, the confrontation produced a new strategic reality whereby Iran was able to redraw the political map of the region in which Iran has emerged not just intact but as the most formidable counter-hegemonic force shaping the new regional order.

This home in Dakar 🇸🇳 was built with raw earth bricks and no AC. Its circular form is inspired by traditional Senegalese homes, with a courtyard and trees at the centre. The house is oriented north-south to capture natural light and prevailing winds. Small openings in the roof allow hot air to escape. The building is raised by 450mm to reduce the risk of flooding. The walls are made from locally produced earth bricks, pressed by hand and sealed for durability. The floors use a traditional broken tile technique, finished with linseed oil for protection and brightness. Glass walls are triple-glazed to insulate the interiors from heat. They open fully for airflow and close when protection is needed. From the windows to the gutters and furniture, everything was made locally. Nothing was imported. This is what happens when design respects where it is built. Local materials are not backward. They work. 📍 Dakar, Senegal Architect: Cyrus Ardalan Photography: Alice Mesguich

It was obvious then & is NOW CONFIRMED by the NYT. Israel was behind the "violent regime change" riots that killed 3000 in Iran in Jan (40k figures were made up to amplify). These events manufactured consent in the West. All designed to destroy Iran. All done by & for Israel

the western mind has forgotten what it feels like to be held by something larger than the self. their worldview is so tethered to material continuity that anything beyond self preservation looks like irrational collapse and not deliberate transcendence.

I hear about Larijani getting assassinated, and then I look into the news and find out that he wasn't in some bunker under a mountain or secret safehouse, he was staying at one of his kids' houses. Guy wasn't even trying to hide. Some very Islamic fatalism right there.

This is Cherise Doyley. She was 12 hours into labor when a nurse told her to cover up with a bedsheet. Then a tablet appeared at her bedside. On the screen: a judge. Lawyers. Hospital staff. She hadn’t asked for a hearing. The hospital had. Doyley is a professional birthing doula. She refused a C-section — she’d had three before, and one left her hemorrhaging. She knew the risks. It didn’t matter. And here’s the part people should pay attention to. The state filed an emergency petition. She had minutes to prepare. No lawyer. No advocate. A three-hour hearing. In the middle of active labor. A judge decided how she would give birth. This is the fetal personhood movement, fully realized. And it’s already happening. To Black women. In Florida. Read the full @ProPublica investigation. “A judge decided how she would give birth. That’s legal right now. Should it be? #ReproductiveRights #DemsUnited
