The diff in gitlab or github is much better than local diff also.

I'm still writing 95% of all my production code by hand. I let it write tests, fix bugs, answer questions, analyze data, build prototypes, but I do not at work let the thing just rip on an architecture I know will have to be maintained into the future.

Degrees have been watered down. We have grade inflation. People lobbied to have students who weren't prepared for college let in to college. Colleges have become profit machines using the federal government to get student loans from as many students as possible, not to educate students.
Your belief that a degree makes a 22 year old educated because they partied for 4 years and sat in class is not accurate,
