At the most basic level, technological innovation requires constrained resources. In the early 80s, you saw the pinnacle of communication platforms: e-mail and IRC. not a single protocol or platform has been able to match even 50% of the versatility of these in the modern world, despite the plethora of engineering manpower, money, and advanced computing power.

Necessity breeds innovation. The only reason why the open source Chinese models are so good is because the engineers only had last-gen hardware and limited funds to work with. The concept extends to all aspects of technology. NOT having access to infinite money and state of the art tech makes your products better in the end.

The best part of vibe coding is I don't have to write any typescript. So, we have a full real implementation of an IRC client now. It's not as good as I would like but.... it's a basic implementation. It will be adapted and I will rewrite it in Rust and get websocket connections working (like the darkfi wasm tool has already). This client is compatible with darkirc and will not require a seperate channel and python adapter with its own WASM tool. The agent can run its own daemon as usual, but now it has an actual client/relay as well. Dealing with raw TCP was fine and all, but this is going to be real now. Well, we already have had real agentic workflows with e2e messages on p2p DarkIRC. Now, this idea will be refined and improved upon. I'll be uploading all this code to my git repo along with the DarkIRC python adapter and my Ironclaw wasm tools. I also need to commit again to the gotify tool since I've made some changes in order to make the agent not fuck up with prompts. Sometimes tool calling isn't so intuitive.

A Japanese TV show indeed linked the Tengu 👺 folklore demon to the arrival of Jews to Japan during the 5th century.

The Japanese Tengu is an ancient demon in Japanese mythology, with origins tracing back over 1,300 years. According to folklore, the Tengu was known for having a big nose, tiny hat, inciting wars amongst local populations, and kidnapping children from villages at night.
