Do you:
A. Skip practice altogether and explain that watching Caitlin is a masterclass in basketball fundamentals. 📚🏀
B. Drop their asses off and hope for the best. What could possibly go wrong? 🤷♀️😭

Brix has been on the steroids for “asthma” (allergic pneumonitis) for about 2 hours now. When we visited with him last he was repositioning himself and is now, at least when we left, on his tummy inside of his side. This means he is likely feeling a bit better but most importantly it allows him to breathe with both his lungs. Before he was on his side and that was the best he could do.
He is not at all safe, and he could die at any time. He is very sick. Thank you to everyone for the kind words, they mean a lot.

FTP: LAPD killed her dog. He was wearing his Knicks jersey.
His name was Jameson. A golden doodle. One of the sweetest, most gentle breeds alive.
A neighbor called a noise complaint. That's it.
20+ officers showed up. Then a helicopter. For a noise complaint in an apartment complex.
And they shot Jameson dead. In front of his owner. In front of her child.
No warning. No de-escalation. Nothing.
The media is barely covering this. No headlines. No outrage.
Like it never happened.
If this was your dog... your child watching... how would you feel?
Jameson deserved better. That little boy deserved better. His mama deserved better.

Brix has deteriorated overnight and is struggling to breathe.
The vet team is doing their best.

Kris and I are sick with worry.
Brix’s condition deteriorated overnight and he is now struggling to breathe.
Diagnostic tests point towards asthma (which I guess is really common in young cats and would explain the crud in his lungs) but also towards pneumonia.
It is less likely it is pneumonia as he doesn’t have a raging infection.
The scary thing is the treatment for one makes the other worse and he is very sick right now.
We went with the vet team’s recommendation to treat for asthma.
It was very hard to see our previous Brix so sick and fighting for his life- it is something many pet parents go through.
