It’s been the busiest year in my journalism career – traveling every other week for a better part of 2023, and it’s also the most fulfilling year with lots of learning thanks to my outstanding and patient editors and colleagues.

In 2023, I was finally able to devote most of my time to what I moved back to China for: reporting trips to the remote and wild, investigation into the rich and powerful, and growing to be an independent reporter writing clear and colorful stories.
