I’m just worried about what kind of precedent this sets for the championship fight. Yesterday, Oscar has been asked to give Lando a tow in Q2 after an individual mistake, and then today, to give back a position he gained due to a slow team pit stop, something he himself has described as “part of racing.”
Asking one driver to undo a situation created by the team is especially uncomfortable because it shifts responsibility for those errors onto the drivers. The risk isn’t just that it disadvantages one of them on the day, but that it gradually complicates the sense of a fair fight that both drivers and fans expect. Unless these interventions can be handled with absolute consistency (which is… hard for obvious reasons), it will inevitably complicate the competitive balance for the rest of the season. So… yeah, I don’t know what the plan is here.
honestly nico rosberg has a pretty sweet deal; he gets to show up to the race weekends, rage bait his ex, drop life-altering lore, choose a random driver to temporarily curse, and then get paid on top of all of that
"I'm so proud of you sweetheart"
"osc! osc! grandads here!"
"oscar! robs over there"
