We built boats to celebrate the last day of summer school! We researched why boats float and set goals about how many coins we wanted our boats to hold before building and testing out our boats!

There was a lot of amazing problem solving and logical thinking going on today in third grade summer school with blockly robots and @STEMtoThem !

The most talented bunch around!! It was cool to see some students who normally shy away from being the center of attention really shine on stage at today’s talent show 💓💓

Field Day!!

Today Masankho Banda performed and taught us about his home country of Malawi in Africa! The students loved the music he made with his djembe and the stories he told!

On Friday the upper grades had the opportunity to watch a strings performance from @BatchelorMS ! They loved their rendition of The Final Countdown and talked about “the zombie song” for the rest of the day!

today the kids practiced their coding skills while programming @Sphero robots with @STEMtoThem !! they took to it quickly and made the robots do some pretty amazing things!

today we went to the Musical Arts Center on IU’s campus to watch a symphony orchestra!

✅first e-learning day as a first year teacher! I have spent a lot of time being a student during distance learning, teaching it was a new angle for me!

in math panda time we have been working on a budgeting project as we virtually travel the world, exploring what other countries celebrate this time of year!

fifth grade survived Bradford Woods!! The kids loved it!! We learned about trees, soil surveys, water health, invertebrates, and so much more in the three days we were there!

School starts TOMORROW so it feels like as good a time as ever to announce I’m teaching fifth grade this year at Highland Park here in Bloomington! :)

I’ve been teaching summer school! I’m the lead teacher in a third grade classroom, we’re two weeks into IREAD remediation and two week away from retaking IREAD!

I graduated on Saturday! I’ve been interviewing all over Monroe County for the last week and I have a feeling that is about to pay off 👀 back to elementary school!!

It’s my last day of student teaching!! I wrote the kids little notes and this morning I taped a starburst to each one

Yesterday was IU’s School of Education Interview Day! I spent my morning interviewing with a couple school districts located around southern Indiana and then headed back to school for the rest of our ILEARN day

I let the students pick their own team names and we played some ILEARN review Jeopardy!

Today I’m subbing in first grade! It’s a big change from fifth grade but we’re having a good day!!

I passed!! With a 94%!!

We went on a cold rainy field trip to Bradford Woods! We hiked, played some games, and learned all about camping & being outdoors!
