@Uni_Speaking The dream! We got lucky going out in May - economy first class with a row of 4 to stretch out on!

Throwback to June 2024. Nothing better than hearing the plane doors close and realising you’ve got a pretty empty flight! 🌎🗣️

Never seen a flight to Orlando so quiet 😳

@JanetEmson Cosy fantasy with romance: The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. Cosy fantasy: Legends&Lattes series (no.3 released in Nov). The Hobbit is a great intro for pure fantasy. Blood Over Bright Haven - academic fantasy(?!) - was my top read of 2024!
English

@HeatherJFitt I loved it - the audiobook was so good! Having watched the film it really brought the words to life!
English

@lydscl I loved it . It’s really bothering me because it gave me vibes of something I’ve already read and I can’t place it .
English

@bhw666sian How funny, such a small world!!
Ive not heard of that other place, will have to check it out!!
English

@lydscl Oddly , no , but we went for lunch there last Thursday . No , Valleys Commandos MC family bbq . So odd , I was there the day before you !
English

@bhw666sian The first one's an audiobook on borrowbox so will get that on the list when I've got a freed up book!!
English

@lydscl The perfect series are top tier police pro . Very gruesome and gritty . Everyone of hers I’ve read is an easy 4 star read x
English

@bhw666sian I've not heard of that, I'll add that to my list - new series for after this one! Do like to have a police type series on the, finished ruth galloway and was looking for a new spot and now ive got 2!!
English

@lydscl They are really good. I’m a few behind . Have you read Helen Fields Perfect series ? Soooo good .
English

@JanetEmson Good luck on your fantasy reading journey, hope you find some winners 🤗

@bertsbooks Dependent on location - beach/lazy holiday then 4-6 plus ebook reader. City breaks or 'busy' holidays - purely digital

So, a #ThursdayQuestion, if you were going on holiday for a week, how many books would you need to take? - Michael

July's round up and 34 books read and again two 5 star reads. Overall a strong line up of reads!

Lydscl@lydscl
June's reading round up, only a week late! 24 books and 2 x 5 star reads with a solid stack of 4 and 4.5 star reads too. Happy with what I read, a solid mix of comfort reads, eArcs and a couple off my physical TBR.

@serialsemantic The one I would recommend avoiding in that case is the least of my scars, that one probably bothered me the most out of the 15 things ive read by home. I really enjoyed his short stories Parthenogenosis and Sterling City too and they're not particularly graphic.
English

Okay, hivemind...where should I start re Stephen Graham Jones? I LOVE literary horror and something out of the ordinary, but I don't like too much gore or action.
Opinions appreciated.🙏

@serialsemantic It's a great intro, has the layered themes, really unsettling but without the direct violence and gore found in things like The Indian Lake Trilogy. Night of the Mannequins is also one I liked, very weird and different to Mapping.
English

@lydscl Thank you! I really fancy Mapping the Interior.
