Executives. Professionals. Six Hours. Full Vaue. Full house. Electric energy. Last Friday, @BrandHelp1 convened the Second Edition of the Personal Branding Masterclass; and wow. The room at Protea Skyz Hotel was packed, buzzing, and hungry for more. Thanks to incredible speakers like Patrick Bitature , Pumla Nabachwa, @inakasiita1, @S_Kahumuza, Waswa Moses & myself. When I planned a session on turning skills & expertise into influence & opportunities, I’ll be honest; I didn’t know if many people would show up. You know! You never really know until the doors open. They showed up. And not just to fill seats. They came to engage. They came to learn. They came to connect. Here’s what stayed with me: •The conversations didn’t end when the session ended •Real contacts were exchanged; not just LinkedIn requests •Eighteen people that afternoon told me they’d been waiting for exactly this •The questions? Sharp. Thoughtful. Better than I imagined. Time? Not so good! We went overboard! Not proud! But guess what! People stayed! Room was still full. Wow! This is why we do what we do at Brand Help. This is what I envisioned of my PR & Personal Branding think tank. Spaces where real growth happens. Where founders and professionals stop feeling alone in the struggle and start building influence with intention. To all organizations that sent in your teams; URSB, BOU, MTN Mobile Money, Legacy Hills Investments, Prudential, Node Group, Capital One Group & many more. Thank you. To our sponsors; @newmanfoodsltd, @EvolveAfrica1, @Etroca, Solace Graphics, Prudential; Thank you! To everyone who showed up: thank you. You made the room what it was. To everyone who wanted to be there but couldn’t: we’re doing this again; and I’ll keep you posted. And to my incredible team at @BrandHelp1; this worked because of you. Here’s to more full houses. Here’s to community. Here’s to turning expertise into influence; together. #PersonalBranding #PersonalBrandingMasterclass #BrandHelp

During a session on leadership and personal branding, @lyn2ki Personal Branding Expert at @BrandHelp1 and Deputy Secretary General at PRAU Uganda, shared valuable insights with the team, emphasizing that self-leadership is the foundation of effective leadership. She highlighted that true leadership starts with self, and that your personal brand is shaped by how others experience you, not just how you present yourself. #WeAreOldMutual

You know! Your knowledge was never meant to stay private. It was meant to serve people at scale. Right now, there are people with valuable knowledge, powerful insights, and meaningful experiences… But they remain invisible. Not because they lack value. But because they have not taken ownership of their voice. - They stay quiet in rooms where their ideas could help others. - They hesitate to share their perspectives publicly. - They keep their expertise hidden behind modesty or fear. Meanwhile, louder voices; sometimes with less depth; shape the conversations. That’s the real issue. Personal branding is not about promoting yourself. It is about taking responsibility for the impact your voice can create. Remember the parable of the talents? I thought so! The moment someone understands this, their behavior changes. - They begin to share their ideas more intentionally. - They start documenting what they know. - They build a platform around the value they carry. Stop misunderstanding personal branding; it’s not about just visibility; it’s about stewardship. It is self leadership! Happy new month! @BrandHelp1 #PersonalBranding #StrategicCommunication

I recently learned that when you search for top female PR professionals in Uganda, my name appears among the first five. Yes, Lyn Tukei! All flowers to @nancy_akullo & her group of mentees for alerting me on this huge revelation. Truly, you’ve inspired this post! At first, it felt surprising. Then humbling. And then… deeply sobering. More than anything, it made me reflect. It’s a reminder that the work we do, the standards we uphold, and the way we show up every day are being observed, interpreted, and in many ways, setting a tone for others who are coming up behind us. It also reinforced a powerful truth about personal branding: Your brand is not what you say about yourself; it’s what the world consistently experiences, remembers, and can find about you. Long before recognition shows up publicly, your brand is quietly being built: • in the rooms you show up in • in the work you choose to do (and how well you do it) • in the consistency of your voice and values • in how others speak about you when you’re not in the room Search results don’t happen by accident. They are a reflection of sustained visibility, credibility, and intentional presence over time. But this moment also reminded me of something equally important: There are so many brilliant women & men doing meaningful work whose impact may not yet be “searchable”; and that doesn’t make it any less significant. So for me, this isn’t just a milestone. It’s a mandate. To be more intentional about how I show up. To build with purpose, not just visibility. To open doors and amplify others. Because the goal isn’t just to be seen; it’s to stand for something, and to make space for others to be seen too. @BrandHelp1 #PersonalBranding #CapitalMarketsPR #Leadership #Uganda #BrandHelp #LynTukei

I don’t post often. But my phone rings every day to present me with opportunities. That’s the part about personal branding people don’t talk about. We have been conditioned to believe that visibility is everything. Post more. Show up daily. Stay consistent. But here’s the truth most people avoid: You don’t need to be everywhere… If what you’re known for is clear and valuable. Hear me out… We have normalised being seen over being valuable. People are busy: • Posting consistently but saying very little • Chasing impressions instead of building credibility • Following trends instead of forming perspectives • Curating an image instead of developing substance through networks. So the content flows… But the impact stays shallow. A strong personal brand is not built on how often you show up. It is built on what you stand for when you do. I post less, intentionally. Because I am more focused on: • Doing work that speaks for itself • Delivering results people talk about in rooms I’m not in • Building trust that turns into referrals • Creating impact that outlives a single post So when I do show up, it is not to stay visible. It is to reinforce what I already stand for. Personal branding is about reputation. And reputation travels faster than content ever will. The question is not, “How often are you posting?” It is, “What are people saying about you when you are not?” Because visibility without value is just noise. The real question is not, “Are people seeing you?” It is, “Are they remembering you for something that matters?” #PersonalBranding #StrategicCommunication #Authenticity #ThoughtLeadership @BrandHelp1 got you!

Yesterday I had the privilege of leading a session with agents from @OldMutualUganda on a topic that is becoming increasingly important in financial services: personal branding. This was more than just a training session. It marked the beginning of what we believe is a powerful partnership between financial advisory and intentional brand building. At @BrandHelp1; the first personal branding agency in East Africa focused on positioning leaders for influence; we believe that professionals who shape financial decisions must also shape how they show up in the world. Because in finance, people are not only buying products. They are buying confidence. Confidence in the person explaining investments. Confidence in the person guiding their financial decisions. Confidence in the person educating them about money. That’s where personal branding becomes powerful. When financial advisors consistently share knowledge, demonstrate expertise, and communicate with clarity, they build something far more valuable than visibility. They build trust. And in financial education, trust is the real currency. Excited about what this collaboration represents; not just for financial advisors, but for the future of credible financial voices shaping conversations across our communities. #PersonalBranding #BrandHelp #StrategicCommunication

As we prepare for the 2027 #WomenInFinTech Magazine, we look back at the powerful stories that shaped our last edition. One standout feature came from @lyn2ki, whose insights highlighted how PR and digital marketing continue to empower women across the FinTech ecosystem in Uganda and beyond. Her message was clear: visibility is not a luxury it’s a catalyst for innovation, leadership, and meaningful participation in the digital economy. From addressing the gender gap to harnessing communication tools that amplify women’s expertise, last edition reminded us that strategic storytelling and strong branding are essential for women breaking barriers in FinTech. As we move toward 2027, we carry forward the momentum uplifting voices, accelerating innovation, and ensuring that every woman has the platform she needs to lead and thrive. hipipo.org/wp-content/upl… | #IncludeEveryone #LevelOneProject

This Women’s Month, I have the honour of facilitating a session on Personal Branding at the Women in Accountancy Forum hosted by the @ICPAU1 (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda) In today’s profession, competence is expected. Clarity and strategic positioning are what differentiate you. As women in accounting, audit, finance, consultancy, and governance, we carry technical expertise; but many struggle with translating that expertise into influence. In this session, we will explore: • Building a brand rooted in credibility and integrity • Strengthening executive presence without compromising authenticity • Positioning your expertise for leadership opportunities • Managing visibility while sustaining wellbeing Personal branding is not self-promotion. It is strategic clarity about who you are, the value you bring, and how consistently you communicate it. This Women’s Month, let’s move beyond celebration and invest in elevation. If you are ready to strengthen your professional voice and leadership presence, I look forward to seeing you at the Women in Accountancy Forum.
