@adgirlMM I can't. I peek at social media here once a day and am watching Netflix and testing recipes. 8 years of this and here we are. At some point I may invest myself again, but for now, I need a long break from all of it.
Just made the mistake of watching last night's Rachel Maddow. Believe me when I say to you, if you haven't watched it, don't. Especially you, North Carolina friends.
And so it begins.
When the owner of this website, the richest man in the world, the most followed-man on Twitter, constantly, daily, hourly, posts again and again to tens of millions of followers that the media lies, that the media can’t be trusted, that all media is corrupt and dishonest, you don’t think that has a massive effect not just on trust and polarization in society, but on election outcomes and political messaging? Especially when it comes after years of Donald Trump doing the exact same thing?
If Dems, and liberals in general, don’t understand the way in which Musk, Trump and co have cynically created an unpenetrable bubble around their followers, primed them against a reality-based universe, pre-emptively undermined any negative stories about themselves, then Dems and liberals will never be able to ‘win’ - in terms of narratives or elections. It’s key to everything. It’s at the heart of everything.
Joining @SRuhle tonight on @MSNBC at the top of the 11pm hour. If you've been taking a break from the news, this might be a good night to come back. Today was A LOT.
Dear Media:
STOP saying Trump "selected" or "appointed" a potential cabinet member like it's a done deal.
He NOMINATES them. And they must be CONFIRMED by the Senate, as required by the Constitution.
It's a presidency, not a monarchy.

We the People
@krassenstein Please say you knew this when scotus made the ruling. Biden took an oath to protect the Constitution, so even w/out regard to the immunity ruling, a president has the power to do his job.
Wait a minute. According to MAGA Joe Biden can just "official act" Kamala Harris into a "King Dictator" role and send Trump to Guantánamo Bay, right?
What am I missing here?
Trump will be the oldest president ever and is already showing cognitive decline. Yes, he'll be in the White House, but probably not in the driver's seat. I think that's why Elon Musk worked so hard to elect Trump and to position himself at the center of the administration.
@RepJeffries Yes, we're intimated. If we weren't, we would demand that the Constitution be protected. We're going to watch Biden hand him the keys to the WH instead of upholding his oath to the Constitution.
Seems like complaining just won't be enough to hold democracy.
Racist, vile and threatening text messages are being sent to young African-Americans throughout the country, including on college campuses.
There are extremists in America who feel empowered.
We will not be intimidated by anyone.
I said this at the start of the election, and I’ll say it again now, even as Harris’s chances appear to have dimmed:
I will fully respect the outcome of this election. I will wholeheartedly recognize the winner as my President, and I will sincerely hope for this country to succeed, no matter who is at the helm.
It’s a shame that this commitment didn't come from the other side in 2020.
Sent this to a friend in AL after dropping off my vote. She called and asked me if I was afraid of him and his people coming after me if he won.
"Yes. I am. That's why I voted for Harris."
Gracias @NickyJamPR.
Thank you for having the courage to show by example that it’s okay to change your mind and stand up for our community.
Que viva Puerto Rico y la comunidad Latina 🇵🇷 Harris también es la candidata que tiene el mejor plan en la economía por nuestra gente
