I don’t know who needs to hear this, but: You can love an adopted person (even in your own family) and still be critical of adoption as a system, and want to envision what abolition means. In fact, it’s often because of one’s love for that person that you do.

When someone calls you too sensitive or too dramatic they’re revealing how disconnected they are from their own emotions.

A wholesome reminder here that I am still searching for more adoptee novels and nonfiction from adoptees at @PSLiterary. ❤️ Think of me for yours. More of our stories need to be out there.

Kicking around a new ✨thing✨ and wondering, where are my adoptee authors? Chances are we've talked but if we haven't... say hi?

It’s so sad to see POC calling it segregation when you want to do something with other POC. Segregation is when someone with power chooses to separate you from power. When you choose to make power with other disempowered people, that’s not segregation. That’s community.

I had a therapist who once told me, “if you don’t schedule a break, your body will take one for you. And it probably won’t be at a convenient time.”

I've been getting countless replies and DMs like this since last week. A reminder that I was born here, I'm American, and these insecure white people are terrified they're becoming the minority because they're scared we'll treat them the same way they've historically treated us.

I recently read The Book Thief, a solid 15 years after publication, and adored it. What are your favourite books from the last 20 years? The books that aren’t new anymore but you still want to press into everyone’s hands.
