@alexathallow And I couldn’t agree more. Incredibly touching and meaningful. Thank you Ashley for sharing your story.

Shout out to Ashley, our head writer of Pray40, for sharing her Story of Return with us today 🙏
Note we got today: "I know you have had some notable people leading us, and they are certainly terrific. But this session with Ashley hits different....in a good way. In a ...great way. Her innocence and authenticity permeates her entire story. The authentic first-person account of her life draws all of us into the highs and lows of her very personal journey. One that many listeners can identify with due to its gritty nature and real-world relatability. What is truly great about this session is that she, simply put...is one of us.”
Couldn’t have said it better myself.

@Riley_Gaines_ Insanity. Why do people in positions of influence say things that are blatantly false? And, more incredulously, go unchallenged on these scientifically false statements?
English

@JenniferSey Jennifer, you are a warrior for girls’ and women’s rights to have their own sports free of men posing as girls and women. You look great! Enough from the haters. Cowards one and all.

To all the people in my mentions and DMs telling me I look old ... I am! That's not an insult! That's like telling me I'm short. I'm just fine looking the age that I am. Why shouldn't I be? (I'm fine being short too.)
To all the people telling me I look "trans" or like a man ... I thought "trans women" are women and are more beautiful than real women or "c*s" women? So I'll take it as a compliment. Thank you!
To all the people telling me I look like the Hulk and look at your neck! See point 1, yes we age. Grateful to have the opportunity to do so. Also, the Hulk looks and is strong, so again, I'll take it as a compliment. Thank you!
Happy Monday!

@PaigeSpiranac I know 20 handicap players who play much faster than 5-10’s. Have a friend who’s a 5 who takes 45 seconds over each shot before pulling the trigger. Agree Paige, it’s the player not the handy.
English

Pace of play is based on the individual and not their handicap. Having a low handicap doesn’t always equate quick pace of play
Upper East Side Golf@UESgolf
An active GHIN and 15 handicap should be minimum requirement to book tee times between 6:30a and 8:30a

To the players and caddies who give me tickets to give away.
Right now a family of six is piling in their car to drive 9 hours to take the entire family to the Players tomorrow.
Money is tight, but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up.
The father is a recovering addict, who now runs a rehab center and helps others get sober.
He wants to introduce his kids to golf and thought this would be a great way to do it.
Our @driveftf foundation is taking care of hotel for them tonight and will cover parking and food.
So thank you to all the players and caddies that make these moments possible to give to families.

@chambleebrandel @ArronOberholser Agree Brandel. GC continues to do great work on reminding us that the game we love is populated by people who sometimes need our love and understanding. That was sixteen minutes of heartfelt confession that hopefully helps Gary continue in his recovery.

There are a million things I love about working for The Golf Channel. The people and the never-ending desire to cover all aspects of the game fairly and accurately.
But above all else is that The Golf Channel endeavors to cover the very human aspects of the game and the interview tonight on “Live From” with Gary Woodland is an emotional reminder that this game is not just about who is playing the best but who is dealing with the worst.

@alexathallow Alex, thanks for hitting this baseless criticism head on and in such a thoughtful way. I’m convinced these criticisms are the result of Hallow’s impact for the kingdom of God. I’ve been a subscriber for three years and Hallow is a great faith development aid. Keep the faith!

Sorry y’all - have been trying to take a step back to spend some time with family post the craziness of the Ash Wednesday launch.
Apparently over the last few days we’ve been attacked for a series of different things.
So I wanted to take a moment and respond. I’m usually not very good at these kinds of things, but will give it my best.
Before I do though I just wanted to say thank you. I’ve seen so many posts and replies defending Hallow and sharing what the Lord has done in your life. Honestly it’s brought me to tears several times. Thank you all. It means more than you know.
Lord thank You for the opportunity to work on this - to be a witness to your goodness.
Okay so the first and biggest one, interestingly enough, is folks attacking partners, mostly Gwen it seems, for partnering with an ‘anti-abortion’ app.
- Yes, we are pro-life. At least we are trying our best to be. We are catholic. On every political issue we stand with the Pope and the Church.
Then there is the usual group of people mad that we have a subscription option for Hallow.
- There is a free version with thousands of free sessions and we give free subscriptions to anyone who reaches out and can’t afford it. Most people who use the app use it completely for free - forever. We do not sell ads or data. The subscription is how we support the work we do.
We’ve got some folks upset that we are going through Dostoevsky for Lent.
- For those of you concerned, please just give the challenge a try. I think the team did a really great job, working with several great priests, of weaving together Fr. Henri Nouwen, the spiritual message of Brothers K, and Scripture in a really beautiful way that’s all, of course, always in line with Church teaching.
And then the latest seems to be a resurfacing of the fact that Peter Thiel is an investor.
- Thiel is one of several hundred different individual investors in Hallow, each with their own politics and other businesses / investments. We are grateful for anyone who was willing to take a bet on Hallow, especially in the earliest days when essentially everyone said no, but we certainly don’t stand behind or endorse everything every investor does.
We do not and would never share any user data with any investor.
Thiel specifically is one of the most prolific technology investors of all time (Facebook / Instagram, PayPal, Apple, LinkedIn, Yelp, Microsoft, Tesla, Spotify, The Athletic, Stripe, Airbnb, Postmates, SpaceX), but just because he owns a share of a company certainly does not mean he has any control over its actions. Thiel is a relatively minor investor (~3% of Hallow’s overall funding). I’ve seen some people say he invested $40 million - this is off by an order of magnitude. He does not sit on our board, and has no decision making control. The three co-founders of Hallow have governance control of Hallow.
If there is ever anything you disagree with, there is never anyone else to blame but me.
Okay, I think that’s all. Tried to do my best to hit on the biggest points, but I’m sure I missed some.
I’d ask, if you would, for your prayers. May the Lord use all of this only for His good. May He take this app, and everything we do, and use it only to share the incredible love He has for you. Lord, helps us to make everything we do only ever in the service of that.
Lord, help me to thank You for the rebukes and for the criticism. May all things give You Glory.
Empty me, fill me, use me.

@walterkirn You have earned both my interest and trust Walter. Consider you one of my “go too” people for a perspective on the happening the day, week, month. Appreciate you immensely.
English

I hope I have earned your interest, perhaps even your trust, with this account. I've gone out on a lot of limbs here to help you make sense of events in the way I originally thought as a young person was the point of journalism -- but learned along the line might not be, at least as it was practiced by far too many. Satisfying my own boyish curiosity has been another driver of my reporting, whose "sources and methods" I keep close because it lets people feel freer when we speak.
There is a caste system of information that, in my view, is far too rigid and exclusionary. It is my goal to make it less so. We only have so much time here in this life and we all deserve to understand our world.
English

@mattlindner Matt, the reasons are the City and State powers have their heads up their asses. Soldiers Filed conditions have been horrible for decades. Pritzker and Johnson are playing checkers and the Bears ownership is playing chess. Ind and Wis steal businesses regularly from Illinois.
English

I was born and raised a Bears fan in the suburbs. I've lived in the city for more than 15 years now, and I love Chicago more than just about anything. The Bears moving to Indiana would piss me off more than anything any Chicago team has done ever for reasons I can't explain.
Madtown Ron@ron_greisch
@mattlindner I thought it was “Bears above anything”? Why would location matter? You can stop and catch a game on the way back from seeing Purdue play on Saturday!
