Many thanks to everybody who has donated/supported my brother and I in our first, and possibly only, half marathon. It is race day tomorrow so there is still time if you can spare a few pounds. I can’t wait to see this finish line. Hopefully, mum will be up there pushing us on.

250 @Parkruns at my favourite course @Beverleyparkrun 😀 “The splender of spirit in motion.”@DeanKarnazes 🏃‍♂️ I owe so such much to it and this sport. It was never my intention to run this many. I share, listen and try to live #HighPerformance and this has become one of my weekly non-negotiables. ⏫️ My journey with Parkrun started as coping strategy following the tragic loss of a very close colleague to suicide. Suggested by my counsellor at the time, it has helped immensely. It’s not easy to share this but I do it because it may help someone. 👥 Week after week just running, trying to improve and being welcomed by the community. It provided a sense of calm, clarity and lifting that feeling of the weight of the world on my shoulders. 🧱 So as I’ve got better, quicker and a little bit faster the above is the why. 👆 I love the sport of running and a big advocate of Parkrun. As I get older and possibly have to accept getting slower I will always support, encourage and promote this community as it has made such a difference to me. 🙌 “Running is fun but hard work; it is draining yet enriching; depleting and yet deeply restorative; sobering and yet intoxicating. It is individual and yet collective; it is sweaty and yet beautiful; it art and mind, yes, it is science too. Running is accessible and yet so remarkable; it is prosaic and yet poetic, a challenge and yet a delight; and perhaps above all it manages somehow to be both freedom and connection. How can we possibly ever explain it entirely? All I know for certain is that I would never have coped without it.” @marathon_addict Outrunning the demons.
