@LaraS_EDU Totally! I think it can be glossed over, or assumed sometimes, but I have grade 9s working on CAD/modelling software, and it’s the difference between “getting it” and struggling!

I had a shocking discovery in math class today. This school year, I am making sure all students have fact fluency with basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. I didn’t make the connection that automaticity in this area would improve simplifying fractions.

@realJ_Mitchell Coming from industry, seeing what is involved and demanded of someone on their apprenticeship (it can be a huge leap skills wise, even with gr 12 tech...not to mention maturity levels and all that goes with it), I don't see this going well.

Will these students still earn their OSSD? These seems like a decision which, if made impulsively, would negatively impact students. What happens to grade 12 tech courses? #OntEd

@m_rochus @TABTigerLife There used to be a wall full of Heathkit (I think IO-102 model) scopes in the back room that students had presumably damaged over the years, literally 25 or 30 of them, none working. I wonder what happened to them...

Youth sports coaches: please don't use running as punishment in your practices. Running can be fun for kids, but you're making kids see it as a negative thing. Pushups too. I'm mostly thinking of travel basketball, but I assume other sports have this issue too.
