This will be long tweet. (RT for awareness)
Plese leave your thoughts regarding this topic.
From birth i born as deaf. Started using hear-aids at 3
I got my first computer at age 10 and my first game was Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones.
After years of playing singleplayer games when i got faster internet started play mmorpgs.
My first mmorpg was Metin2 which released in 2007 but i started at 2009
Then i hopped every mmorpg and had fun.
Then year 2012 CSGO released, everyone were talking about new FPS game. People enjoying 1.6 then CSGO was huge in their eyes.
I started CSGO in 2014 played a while
But somehow i couldn't find a joy. I couldn't frag at all.
Since i am deaf i couldn't hear footsteps, sound of direction. I got so mad and dropped CSGO in 2015 mid summer.
I found another FPS game called "Point Blank" which surprisingly i did good job on that game.
Point Blank was easier to shoot and find people. Recoil was so minimal and no need sound clues. Just sprint and rush.
I enjoyed the game for 2-3 years but dropped that too for school reasons.
After that i mainly focussed mmorpgs. Played 7 year Final Fantasy 14 but dropped too.
Now till 2022 i played only mmorpgs and single player games
At 2022 i found Rust and i fall in love.
Of course it's still too hard for me. People are insane hearing they hear me from too far and i couldn't anything to counter them. Always dying dying dying...
That sucks...
Then i found PVE servers (Player vs Enviroment)
Other players can't kill you, you raid npc bases and kill npcs, bosses etc.
Till now i always played PVE servers in Rust. That's my only joy in Rust.
Year 2022 December i came back to CSGO, 2 months later CS2 released.
I fall love CS2 again. Started playing only casual gamemodes.
Then i found something interesting. Now Radar shows enemy icons (red dots) when they found or make sounds like shooting, jumping.
Surprisely i could hear footsteps when they close to me. (still can't figure which direction are they coming.)
Game changed? or my new hear-aids better? (since kid i changed a lot hear-aids when new models came out)
So far i am enjoying game, still no Competive or Premier.
After a while i decide to play Competive or Premier, but most of time i get kicked. Why?
Well.... Because i don't hear and listen comms. They thought i am trolling so decide to kick me.
That's why i make my steam name as "Chizuru The Deaf Gamer" hoping they will understand.
Well nothing changed but i am not mad.
I enjoy playing casual gamemodes ^^
After while i started follow some CS2 twitch streamers like
@superfkr
@ohnePixel
@zipelCS
@xDiorCS
Thanks to them i were able to learn CS2 skin marketplace and skin types.
Then i decided to join giveaways on skin websites. (i don't want give names because they were gifting balance to me, i don't want that since it's repost.)
Won few times, lost more.
Then i won giveaway from
@xDiorCS
and i was able to get my first knife+glove combo.
In Turkey's economy this is "A LOT" money. Even it was short duration i enjoyed a lot. Due cat accident i had to sell my inventory.
Shoutout to people helped me buying skins overpriced to get bills done.
@gencobraCS
@GeneralCoot
there 2 more people but i forgot their twitter names...
Sorry!
Also i want give shoutout to cs2 community who helped me to get enjoy game and get my twitch channel get affilate!
@getraqd @R20_cs @DiorSecurities and more!
I want give special shoutout to @superfkr for gifting me audio radar which helps deaf people to hear sounds via visual effects. (light bars on monitor)
It's shame to tell this but due import fee issues i had to refund to him. I am very thankful to him gifting me without thinking. It was truly special moment. I was so happy. I am sure these type devices will more common and i will able to get from my country.
Anways,
Now why i am writing this?
Let's talk the main topic.
Fortnite introduced "Visualize Sound Effects" feature. Which shows sounds arround on you as "icon" on middle of screen.
Fortnite is competive Battle Royale game.
There even huge Tournaments.
Few months ago i debated with few people about Visualize Sound Effects feature in CS2 and most people thought it will broke balance.
They thought it's not fair for FPS game which requires hearing focused.
I understand, but if Fortnite have why CS2 can't have?
Valve can adjust to make fair everyone.
Example if you enable visualize sound feature that will make game sound fully mute.
So your options: Have sound but no visualize feature.
Have visualize feature but no sound at all.
I want get attention of
@valvesoftware
@CounterStrike
regarding "Visualize Sound Effects" for deaf players.
CS2 have deaf player base too! We need help. Hear us!
Thank you for reading my long yapping.
