It was a pleasure being interviewed by actual journalists in this space - having no idea what the final story would be but happy to be able to speak, regardless
BeInCrypto@beincrypto

Exclusive interview with The White Whale and MEXC – truth behind the $3M frozen funds 🚨 BeInCrypto directly interviewed both parties to understand the reality of the matter. @TheWhiteWhaleHL turned NFTs into a $2M+ bounty to pressure MEXC. “It’s not even about the money. If I have to scale it up to 100%, I will. This is about principle, not dollars.” So far, more than 24,000 users have signed up to the campaign. But is the pressure working? “I’ve spoken with MEXC employees at a retreat in Bali — this dispute is the constant topic of conversation. I know we’ve got their attention.” 🧵👇

“Why not just sue them?” It’s the most common question I get. Here’s the truth: Exchanges like MEXC are designed - from their Terms of Service to their legal registrations - to be nearly impossible to sue. They hide behind jurisdictions like Seychelles, with shell entities scattered across the globe. Their own TOS forces arbitration in regions where no real legal reach exists. So no, it’s not as simple as “just suing them.” They built this legal fortress on purpose. I’ve chosen to fight them on a battlefield they can’t control: the court of public opinion

For absolute clarity: The bounty gets paid if MEXC ever releases the funds - period. I don’t care when or why. If they do the right thing, even years from now, it’ll be honored. Because everything I’ve seen - and everything I’ve heard from others - points to one truth: they never intended to give it back.

The herd thinks September is a guaranteed red month. This is why I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s not. History says the market doesn’t pay out consensus trades. It hunts them. A “bearish September” is now the most crowded thesis on the board - and crowded sentiments are always easy prey. If the Apex Predator wants max pain, green September is the setup. Retail is either going to get caught going short or sit out and miss the real move. I’m not predicting anything. Simply observing and musing. But also positioning. 🫡 From the depths — The White Whale 🐋

I’ve provided more advanced verification and transparency about myself than MEXC provides about its own business. Let that sink in. I’ve submitted proof of address, proof of identity, full documentation. Meanwhile, MEXC: Publishes no headquarters address or office location on its official site. Lists no leadership team - not a single named executive, only many faceless accounts and known pseudonyms. Has fake “proof of reserves” that do not contain third party affirmations or audits. But MEXC has faced regulatory warnings across the globe:  – UK FCA (Mar 2024)  – BaFin Germany (Oct 2023)  – OSC & BCSC Canada (2023–2025)  – KoFIU South Korea (Aug 2022)  – Seychelles regulator confirming their entity was dissolved and never licensed (May 2025). • Their one Singapore corporate entity? Struck off. So let’s be clear: I, one trader, have shown more transparency than a multibillion-dollar exchange. If MEXC demands home addresses from its users, isn’t it fair to ask: Where’s your headquarters? Who’s your full executive team? And why are regulators in country after country already warning people about you? And why can’t you provide proof of reserves? 🫡 From the depths — The White Whale 🐋

If your strategy requires being early, it’s not a strategy. It’s a hope. Apex Predators don’t guess where the crowd will go - they lead them there.

More receipts - my entire deposit and withdrawal history. Apparently I did touch MEXC a couple of times with my BASE/ETH wallet. Also deposited my KILO airdrop into MEXC to sell. Forgot about that too. More AML checks incoming. My entire deposit history: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d… My entire withdrawal history: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d… LOL @ myself for my notes on large withdrawals. Which in hindsight goes to show I was worried, somewhere in the back of my head, in order to place a note for them to see. Hmmm red flag ignored for sure.

My base address passes the AML test, although it did flag an association for High-risk P2P exchange history. Still sharing, because transparency matters. Still clear on the money laundering accusation. Fed it to GPT and I don't recognize any potential service associated with that flag. But it did say that even if I'm one degree of separation from someone who used those services I still might get the flag, and basically that particular flag is no big deal. drive.google.com/file/d/1qJlxX9…

Woah. Put this straight in the category of “I had no idea” This is shocking and something the web3 community should be discussing. I went down a rabbit hole today. In my quest to prove my own innocence. And uncovered a very alarming truth. Web3 loves to call itself “permissionless.” But let’s be honest: private analytics vendors like TRM, Chainalysis, and Elliptic have quietly built the opposite - a shadow credit bureau for your wallet. These companies score and flag addresses the way Equifax scores your credit file. Only worse: You have no right to see your file You have no right to appeal false positives And you can be cut off from DeFi and CeFi entirely without even knowing why Wallets can be blacklisted for: Transacting once with a mixer (even years ago) Routing through a restricted-region IP (that time you switch your VPN to the USA to Netflix but still have your wallet connected) Receiving funds from a counterparty you never controlled (you know how many random tokens people send me just in hopes it will be visible for people tracking my wallet?) Or just being “close” in the transaction graph to something on a sanctions list Once flagged, your address becomes toxic. DeFi protocols hide behind it: “Sorry, our compliance vendor flagged you - nothing we can do.” Meanwhile governments applaud this outsourcing. They get censorship and surveillance, without having to write the code themselves. The result? Web3 with permissioned access. A parallel financial system where your reputation is scored in the shadows by private companies, then enforced by protocols too scared to question them. And unlike credit bureaus, there’s no FCRA or GDPR. No legal process. No requirement to let you see or correct your data. Just a black box deciding whether you belong in “permissionless finance.” If this is the direction we accept, then crypto isn’t an alternative. It’s TradFi with better marketing. Web3 has to decide: do we stand for real openness, or do we quietly accept shadowbans we can’t even see? 🫡 From the depths — The White Whale 🐋

For my fellow Solana players... DefiTuna has some of the best yields I've ever seen on Solana. I'm currently moving some more of my cbBTC from Base over to SOL just so I can get 4X the yield. No, I do not have any incentive to shill their lending pools. In fact, the APRs I'm currently enjoying could actually decrease if too many people take advantage of it. But...I share things I love. defituna.com/lend

Goodbye @maplefinance Maple partnering with TMR is the opposite of what crypto stands for. The promise was permissionless access - not outsourcing DeFi to the same types of credit bureaus we were escaping from. This is where I step off. 🫡 From the depths — The White Whale 🐋

On August 31st, as reported by @Cointelegraph , the M2 money supply in the US has reached $22.12 trillion, reaching a new all time high. But yeah. Crypto is so bearish. 😂😂😂

Just wanted to give a shout out/thanks to one of my followers, @0xrajendra for helping me in my mission to learn and experience new things in crypto daily. For the first time I'm using @SuiNetwork . Not too shabby so far. No one can steal my heart like @solana though.

I feel obligated to follow up on my @maplefinance departure. This issue deserves more balance than my initial reaction gave it. The reality I’ve uncovered: almost every so-called “permissionless” DeFi protocol quietly uses TRM (or similar firms) to screen wallet addresses. On one hand, Maple deserves credit - they were transparent about it. Most protocols aren’t. But here’s the dilemma: do I want terrorists or child traffickers using DeFi? Absolutely not. No decent person does. But once we accept third-party scoring of wallets to decide who’s “allowed” to interact, we’ve crossed into a very grey - and very dangerous - area. Because unlike TradFi, where consumers at least have the right to view and dispute what’s in their file, crypto users get zero recourse. Shadowy gatekeepers deciding who has access? That's not why I joined crypto. I get why protocols want to self-police - because if we leave it to governments, crypto will just get regulated into TradFi at warp speed. But giving users fewer protections than TradFi? That’s going backwards. We need better solutions. I don’t have them yet. But I know this: if we don’t find them, governments will - and we won’t like their version. So @maplefinance, I owe you an apology. You’re doing what everyone else is doing - you were just honest enough to say it out loud. I still disagree with the practice, but I respect the transparency. Now it’s on all of us to find something better, before someone else does it for us. 🫡 From the depths — The White Whale 🐋 x.com/TheWhiteWhaleH…

Going to start warning my audience to never buy a token if people deploy bot armies to hi-jack my posts promoting a specific ticker. The time it wastes for me hiding/blocking the bots is time I could be spending on better things. First Wall Of Shame (NEVER BUY) Ticker: $RYS
