#Vovchansk, Ukraine, established in 1674, formerly located about 5 miles from the 1991 border with russia, razed from the surface of earth in the year of our Lord 2024, in October. The city that barely survived the first six-month long russian occupation in 2022 and has not survived russia's second attempt to occupy it. Cursed are those who happen to share the border with russia. For russia never misses a chance to slaughter and annihilate the city that dares to resist its deadly advances. @MariusGhincea I'm 99% sure the personal convictions he's alluding to is to safeguard against any and every risk of escalation. That's how I would interprete the sentence in light of past statements.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I will never understand why Scholz (and Biden) couldn't connect deep strikes into Russia with Western weapon systems to attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine.
Even if you are terribly afraid of escalation, this is such low-hanging fruit.
