¿Qué vamos a hacerle? La alcaldesa de Madrid estudió en sus libros de primaria que Cortés es un héroe que civilizó a la Nueva España con la espada y la cruz. Nosotros los mexicanos estudiamos algo muy distinto. Que la cruz y la espada destruyeron una civilización e impusieron otra, fundada en el sufrimiento de los pueblos originales. Durante los 3 siglos de la Colonia, la población indígena fue sometida a despojo, a trabajo forzado —encomienda y repartimiento— y a una evangelización coercitiva. Así se configuró una sociedad jerárquica donde el color de piel condicionaba el destino y los pueblos originarios quedaron en la base, en calidad de esclavos. A ello se sumó una catástrofe sanitaria. Por epidemias como la viruela y el sarampión, de 20–25 millones en 1519, la población indígena cayó hacia 1600 a cerca de 2 millones. Paralelamente, la Nueva España se integró a un sistema imperial que extrajo enormes cantidades de riqueza —especialmente plata— en beneficio de la Corona y de élites peninsulares. Y la Inquisición persiguió a los judíos y musulmanes, y los quemó en las plazas públicas o los forzó a la conversión. Durante 3 siglos operó este orden profundamente desigual y cruel, sostenido por la espada y la cruz --y el terror. Y eso sí lo estudiamos en la primaria en México. El perdón no borra la historia ni sustituye a la justicia, pero puede abrir una conversación honesta entre naciones. En 1992 el rey Juan Carlos I reconoció la injusticia histórica hacia los judios, y en 2015 el Estado aprobó una ley para otorgar la nacionalidad a los descendientes de judíos sefardíes como gesto de reparación. ¿Por qué España no hace un gesto equivalente hacia los pueblos indígenas? ¿Racismo? ¿O un terco rezago en su propia educación? En todo caso, venir a homenajear a Cortés a un país donde sí aprendemos en los libros de primaria lo que fue la Colonia, es una empresa marcada de inicio por la desventura. Es como ir a la República Checa a develar un monumento homenajeando a José Stalin, conquistador de los checos --que naturalmente y en su mayoría, lo aborrecen. Buena suerte a l@s políticos mexicanos que acompañen a la Alcaldeza despistada en el homenaje. Sus fotos serán usadas como prueba de su distancia de los sentimientos del país.

Be careful. Dogs metabolize differentlybthan humans. Toxicity of geranium: The geranium plant (Pelargonium spp.) is listed as toxic to dogs by the ASPCA. It contains essential oils like geraniol and linalool that can cause gastrointestinal upset (vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite), skin irritation (dermatitis), lethargy, or more severe signs in larger exposures. These appear most frequently in vet-reviewed or aromatherapy sources as relatively better tolerated (still with caveats): Lavender — Often cited for calming effects. Chamomile (Roman or German) — Soothing properties. Frankincense — General support. Myrrh — Sometimes mentioned for skin or calming. Ginger — For mild digestive support (use cautiously). Rosemary — In small amounts (avoid with epileptic dogs). Bergamot — Limited use. Other oils sometimes mentioned (with strong dilution and moderation): Cedarwood, helichrysum, or copaiba. Lists vary by source.

Recently I visited Missouri and stayed w my mom, who grudgingly let my dogs stay too Hub took them running and they came back with THOUSANDS of seed ticks I fully panicked bc we were at my moms who already didn’t want the dogs there and there were SO MANY TICKS. I put a little geranium oil on the dogs necks and the ticks literally all fell off dead and within minutes. TRY geranium essential oil. It is toxic like the vets meds are, so only a drop for ur animals on the back of the necks.

When your cat plows its face into yours, you’ve been chemically classified as family. The behavior comes from kittenhood. Kittens rub their faces on their mom as a greeting and as a way to beg for food. Adult cats keep the move and redirect it at the people and animals they bond with. When a cat rubs its face on yours, it’s doing the same thing it used to do to its mother. In feral colonies, this rubbing flows in one direction, and the direction reveals status. Cats on the edges of the group rub toward cats at the center. Lower-status cats rub toward higher-status ones. Kittens rub toward the adults that raised them. The pattern is consistent enough that researchers use it to read social status in the colony. So when your cat plows its face into yours, the gesture also says “you’re the one with the food and the warm bed.”

I hate old Arduino boards. I would prefer STM32 for Basic Embedded System or ESP32 for Basic IoT. I would also prefer Arduino Q but I never used it so I can't say how useful it is in specific domain.

what's stopping you from building hardware like this?
