Commissioner Gary Bettman meets with the media later this afternoon. He’s privately been discussing a succession plan. Will he share details?

We stand with our NATO Ally Romania and condemn this reckless incursion on its territory. Our thoughts are with the injured in Galati. We will defend every inch of NATO territory.
@tsnmike B1G almost closed PE deal (only UM/USC opposed) 1st thing they would do is maximize rev across all sports. The men’s NCAA/CBS deal subsidizes a lot of non-rev sports for other schools. B1G/SEC had 11 & 10 S16 teams the last 2 seasons. They aren’t getting full economic value.
@maburach The House settlement.
I have sincere doubts about either putting massive funding behind a project that would tell 70 percent of current fan base (in football) and 80 percent (in hoops) to go pound sand.
Those who are trying to dismiss the expansion of @MarchMadnessMBB -- and the reaction of myriad analysts/reporters who've covered the sport for decades -- can feel free to explain how including these teams makes NCAAs better:

interesting 2 note in this alternate cut of the innerVIEW shared via MTV Rewind 26 years after the VH1 2 one aired that Prince mentions Larry & other MUSICIANS
Chris is the one really pushing the Michael Jackson as competition narrative

@tsnmike What is House? The NCAA/CBS deal expires 6/30/32 so the first men’s tourney w/o NCAA/CBS would be Mar/Apr 2033. ESPN & FOX would finance the all-sports conference. Those 2 partners drove the bus on the last round of conference realignment.
@maburach If they do that, they will see their income from basketball plunge.
(Also, they are committed to House through 34, which means they would need to write a huge check to depart).
@JoshYohe_PGH@tommii_2step It was dependent on the Sixers game last night. They have arena preference. They are playing at home on Friday/Sunday next week. There’s a concert Saturday in the arena. Plus 7 other series & ESPN/TNT/Sportsnet Canada all have their schedules & preferences. It’s complicated.
I wonder if the NHL is aware that the playoffs start in just more than 48 hours. Very unfair to people who are traveling from out of town to see games, or for people who are trying to organize their lives around when puck drop is. Not fair to the teams either, for that matter.
To all of the Philadelphia Flyers fans in my mentions who keep mentioning Kansas City:
Philadelphia and Kansas City have the same amount of Stanley Cups since 1975.
