Macalester's black box performance space has a new look! A leader in the performing arts, James A. Williams '77 has graced stages from the Twin Cities to Broadway. Last week, we celebrated the rededication of the James A. Williams Theater. Congratulations, Mr. Williams! #HeyMac

Over 200 people came to campus to honor Coach Leaney's legacy. His tenure is noted by the women’s soccer team winning the 1998 NCAA Division III National Championship. To celebrate him, folks enjoyed a dinner reception, an alumni pick-up game, and a varsity women's soccer game.

He loves driving down bumpy dirt roads in search of the best places to go backpacking, bouldering, and mushroom-foraging. Do you have a cool "beyond Mac" story you’d like to share? Send us a DM! #heymac

Outside of work, Will plays soccer many times a week, skateboards around Portland when the rain lets up, and occasionally takes sick days to go snowboarding at Mt. Hood in the winter.

Will Matsuda, a 2015 Macalester grad from Portland, OR, works as a photo editor for The New York Times. His work has appeared in The New York Times, National Geographic, and The Wall Street Journal, among many other publications.
