🌍 We're thrilled to announce that our team is now in Sandton, South Africa, preparing to embark on an exciting journey to Hanoi, Vietnam for the World Schools Debate Championship! 🛫 For those who may not understand the magnitude of this tournament, imagine it as the equivalent of the FIFA World Cup, but instead of soccer, it's a high school debate competition! 🎓💬 This year, we have an incredible lineup of talented speakers representing Zimbabwe. Meet our team: 🎙️ Menzimuhle Ncube (Team Captain): Known for his razor-sharp wit and persuasive arguments, Menzimuhle is a force to be reckoned with in the debating world. He was in WSDC Double Octo-Finals last year when team Zimbabwe made history. 🎙️ Mukudzeiishe Madzivire: With his eloquence and captivating storytelling skills, Muku has the ability to turn any debate into a gripping narrative. 🎙️ Arïel Chiza: Arïel's quick thinking and ability to counter any argument make her a formidable team member. 🎙️ Denver Musamirapamwe: Denver's calm and composed demeanor hides a fierce debater who never backs down from a challenge. Our first two matches are scheduled for Thursday, and we couldn't be more excited! In our first match, we'll be facing off against our friends from Uganda, debating whether "the World Bank Group should adopt a one-country-one-vote system." It's sure to be a thought-provoking clash! In our second match, we'll be going head-to-head with Pakistan, proposing the use of the nine planetary boundaries framework. It's a motion close to our hearts, and we can't wait to present our arguments! Throughout the championship, we promise to keep our community updated with our progress.
