Last year various factors (mainly Animal Crossing and, y'know, the pandemic) meant that I barely read any books - here's hoping for more reading this year, and I'll try to keep track of each book here!

So much to say about this salamander. Its body consists of a large 'baroque' or irregular-shaped pearl. It was believed that salamanders could extinguish flames, so they became the emblem of the ardent lover. This jewel may have been an expensive love token given to a man/woman

Spread the word chronic illness twitter- you can now recycle medicine blister packs at superdrug stores (check your local here terracycle.com/en-GB/brigades…) its amazing how many I collected in a few months. You can also recycle other packaging types at local drop off points 🌎🌍

Just trucked all the way to Leith via a million roadworks for an appointment I've had for 3 months to be told they changed it to a phone appointment yesterday, without notifying me??

I swear the 21 bus exists in a parallel dimension - I can't count the number of times it's disappeared off of the bus tracker 🚌

This week I swam in the sea, spent a brilliant afternoon with some family I haven't seen in far too long, played laserquest, won a round of my favourite board game and got 3 hole in ones at mini golf! Also got sunburned & bitten by midges but I guess you can't have everything...

20-22. The first three books in the STARIEL quartet - A. J. Lancaster, 6/7/21 - I LOVE THESE BOOKS. I just read the first 3 & the final book comes out on the 24th July! Very like Genevieve Cogman in tone - light, funny, magical, with fantastic characters (+1 sentient faeland). 🧚‍♂️

19. The Siren - Kiera Cass, 17/6/21 - I have read The Selection series I don't know how many times and Cass' writing is so comforting and lovely. The Siren was a really fun modern take on siren folklore - I loved the urban fantasy elements and sentient ocean 🧜‍♀️🌊
